After a quick recruiter touchpoint, I had a 60-minute Teams interview with two senior software engineers. We began with my resume and projects, including questions about what I had built and how I approached it. Then we covered several straightforward CS fundamentals and finished with a manageable coding challenge.
Later rounds followed a similar pattern: a short presentation about my work, followed by questions that dug into the details. In one round I used a few slides; in another I prepared something brief and focused, then answered questions about a prior project. The recurring question was whether I could explain my technical decisions clearly, not whether I would be caught on obscure trivia. The experience felt friendly and supportive, and I was offered hints when I got stuck.
When things moved quickly, it seemed they liked how I communicated about my past work, though the question depth differed by round. I was either moving forward or reaching later stages, and the overall process did not feel especially stressful. It was a structured discussion about my research and engineering fundamentals.
