After the recruiter stage, I attended an on-site graduate-style assessment day. It began with a company introduction, then a short presentation on my dissertation to two staff members, followed by a group problem-solving activity about teamwork and communication.
There were behavioral "tell me about a time" questions and some technical discussion of safety protocols. The day seemed to assess communication and collaborative thinking, not just buzzwords. Everyone treated me professionally, which made it relaxed rather than intimidating. I did not receive an offer, but it felt like a friendly, competency-focused assessment.
Location: Derby, England. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
