I went through several coding-gated processes where logistics, timing, or platform trust issues affected my candidacy.
One take-home CodeSignal evaluation had four steps, and I completed most of it. CodeSignal invalidated the assessment because of suspected copying or screen-sharing behavior.
After receiving an online assessment invitation in another process, I waited weeks to hear from a recruiter and then received a generic rejection. I couldn't get a response even though my coding performance was high.
Another emailed coding assessment felt fair, but I couldn't complete the later section because I suspected the expected values were incorrect. There was no way to contact anyone for feedback.
I also took a ninety-minute CodeSignal test. The example prompts didn't match the real test, and I felt pressured by the submission process while being evaluated. I still received a rejection.
In another CodeSignal process, I received a rejection after getting an "expert" profile. The assessment didn't feel especially hard, but there wasn't enough time to finish it. I didn't move forward. The coding gates could be undermined by verification problems, unclear contact options, or time and platform constraints.
