My process started normally enough with an interview with the hiring manager, followed by a live coding round that was scheduled for later. The people involved on the technical side seemed cool and friendly. I wasn't as nervous as I expected because the interviewers were engaged and explained what they worked on. The recruiter and coordination side made the experience much harder.
There were scheduling problems that turned into real friction. The recruiter communication was slow and inconsistent. At one point, there were no interview slots even though I had been told I would receive one, and then a slot appeared weeks later. When the meeting time finally arrived, the hiring manager didn't show up, and I received an apology afterward explaining that there had been a scheduling conflict. I also spent time waiting in a chat with no indication that the interviewer would join. Even after I reported it, the recruitment coordinator didn't respond.
Eventually, I stopped pursuing the role. That was frustrating because the technical conversations themselves had been positive, but the process handled my time poorly. Calls were skipped, and rescheduling requests were ignored without notice. I left feeling that enthusiasm and competence couldn't make up for the lack of reliable communication from the HR side.
