The part that defined my experience wasn’t the interviews. It was the coordination. I was scheduled for an HR screen and then a technical screen, but rescheduling became a mess. It took about two weeks and several different coordinators to move the interview. On the day of the rescheduled interview, I arrived early, only for the interviewer not to show up. The recruiter and coordinator didn’t respond afterward, which left a terrible impression because I’d already spent time preparing.
Even when I got farther in other parts of the process, the communication at the end didn’t improve. After a conversation with the hiring manager, I had a strong feeling about my fit. A rejection email arrived just minutes after the call ended, making it seem as if the decision had been made before I finished speaking. Between the scheduling problems and the lack of timely, meaningful context, the process felt disjointed and frustrating.
I didn’t get an offer. The biggest effect was how much the process disrupted the confidence I’d built during the interviews. The communication gaps made everything feel worse.
