Disney+HotStar Software Engineer interview: AI fluency and high-level design

Recruiter coordination was a little difficult, but I thought the interviewers were good once the interviews began. I went through two rounds: AI fluency, then high-level design. I didn't receive an offer.

In the AI fluency round, I had a system-design problem about where AI could be useful. It felt much broader than a typical high-level design question. I had to decide how the proposed system would connect to existing systems and data inputs during the interview itself. Those integration decisions added to the difficulty of producing the design.

The second round had another high-level design challenge that felt different from the usual prompts. I found the loop difficult and specialized, with a much higher standard than I'd encountered in ordinary system-design interviews.

Location: Bengaluru. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
