Backfilling my full February DoorDash interview. It was a friend's referral.
The process moved really fast, probably because my previous team and this team were a very close match in terms of business. The guidance said the coding round would be "coding with AI", but in the actual interview there was no AI assistance and no AI round, and the interviewers said they had never heard that AI was allowed. It's probably different now.
Feb 17: coding. It was the classic bootstrap API problem that gets passed around on the forum.
Feb 26: onsite.
Debugging: the classic round robin, plus writing consistent hashing. I'd suggest practicing it a few times beforehand. The same forum post I used for the coding round covers it.
System design: they sent someone from the team I'm on now to interview me. The question was roughly to design a data processing system. There is a popular system design video series on YouTube that covers it.
HM chat: this was my current boss. I don't remember the specific questions, but it was basically about past projects, what difficulties I ran into, etc.
Mar 3: the recruiter scheduled a phone call, and I guessed that meant I had passed. The next day the call confirmed it.
One more thing: the law firm they use, Vialto, is really, really, really, really slow!!! For three weeks they couldn't expedite my H1B transfer filing, and involving HR and the manager did nothing. They knew my grace period would run out in three weeks and still couldn't be pushed at all, and it still took them over a month at their own leisurely pace to file. As a result I went through a very painful process of switching to B2 and then back to H1B. I signed the offer on Mar 6 and didn't officially start until Aug 17. I won't even describe the five months of misery and mental pressure in between. But I'm very grateful to my manager and my skip-level, who kept helping push things along and were very supportive. According to my skip, DoorDash generally doesn't rescind offers.
