My process began with an HR call on September 10 and a Code Craft phone screen on September 18. The virtual onsite ran on October 7–8, although repeated rescheduling pushed the hiring-manager conversation to October 20.
The technical rounds covered a project deep dive and job scheduler, debugging an object-oriented round-robin router, and consistent-hashing pseudocode. An AI-assisted exercise emphasized getting several services working quickly. I felt iteration mattered more there than meticulous review of generated code. The manager asked behavioral questions and discussed an incident.
Some interviewers seemed tired, but I enjoyed the AI and manager conversations. The AI round was particularly relaxed. Familiar interview reports covered much of the material; tracing the router manually seemed useful preparation.
A follow-up a week after the interviews confirmed that I had passed, with another team match still needed. I subsequently found one without much difficulty.
