Dropbox Product Manager take-home case and presentation

After a recruiter screen, I moved into a sequence that increasingly felt like a full product loop. It included a hiring manager conversation, several meetings with product and other stakeholders, a take-home product case study, and a final presentation. The process took about a month. I was told it would be fast, but scheduling became stop-and-start, with meetings being moved on short notice.

The interviews focused heavily on product sense and situational prompts related to Dropbox's work. The product-sense portion didn't feel especially deep. I remember discussing a product I liked, after which the conversation drifted toward what felt like style over substance. I also got the impression that the process was testing several things at once: how I think, how I explain my choices, and how I handle a structured case.

I eventually completed the take-home and presentation round, where I had to communicate my thinking clearly. The experience was challenging but surprisingly transparent, and the people I spoke with were thoughtful and kind. I didn't receive an offer. The process wasn't adversarial, but it was intense, somewhat uneven in depth, and heavily focused on product judgment.

Location: Toronto, ON. Overall feedback: Neutral. Offer status: No offer.
