I went through a fairly standard, multi-round software and DSA process over a couple of weeks. It included mostly resume and project discussion, along with one or more light to moderate technical assessments.
The recruiter screen lasted about 20 to 45 minutes and focused on my background, why I wanted to work at Garmin, and a few behavioral prompts.
In the remote technical interview, which took place by phone or Teams, I covered technical foundations and projects from my resume. I also completed short coding tasks, often described as LeetCode-easy, and sometimes a small technical quiz.
During the onsite or panel interview with engineers and/or team leads, I explained my previous work, answered more technical questions, and worked through additional coding or concept questions. The interviews usually ended with time for my questions.
When there was an HR or managerial touchpoint, it focused more on fit and expectations than deep technical topics. It sometimes included a written English-related step. There was no offer, and my main takeaway was that fluency in the fundamentals and clear explanations of my projects helped most.
