I started with a recruiter-style setup that felt fast and straightforward. After an initial conversation to line things up, I had a phone screen and then an in-person interview. At the store, I met with multiple managers. They asked about my background, how I worked with people, my fit for the role and store culture.
Most questions stayed close to my CV: sales experience, how I approached customers, and whether I could talk comfortably about pro audio gear. I also did role-play scenarios about common sales situations. It did not feel technical or overly heavy and was mostly what I expected from a retail sales interview.
My in-person portion was relaxed and took under an hour. They were responsive about next steps, and I was offered the job shortly afterward. That surprised me only because the questions had felt so normal instead of high pressure. What stood out was the emphasis on personality and fit alongside basic sales discussion.
