McKinsey & Business Analyst interview: partner-level case jump

The process grew harder as it went. I had two relatively easier first-round interviews, often with Business Analysts, on cases such as market entry and profitability. The final partner rounds used much harder strategy cases and less familiar story lines, so I had to adapt quickly.

They also asked about my resume and experience before moving into the cases. The schedule felt tight, with cases taking most of the time and a possible in-person final step depending on the sequence. I did not receive an offer. I had prepared for case work, but the jump in final-round complexity was what unsettled me most and made the partner-level bar feel very different.

Location: New York, NY. Overall feedback: neutral. Offer status: no offer.
