My experience started with a conversation with the hiring manager, and it immediately felt off. I was asked to walk through my experience, but as soon as I began describing projects, she wanted to hear about a different project from my resume. I tried to adjust, but she seemed impatient and kept interrupting instead of letting me finish.
As the call went on, I felt increasingly uncomfortable, like I was losing my footing in the middle of each answer and being pushed to respond only to very specific prompts. The vibe stayed irritated rather than collaborative. By the end, I was already convinced I wouldn't want to work under someone who spoke to candidates that way, even though I still answered the questions.
I never progressed further, and I didn't receive an offer. The rejection wasn't the biggest sting. It was the way the interaction made the process feel disrespectful and hard to take seriously.
