Nokia Software Engineer interview: unexpected technical questions at first contact

Nokia·Software Engineer·Reported Jul 2026
Technical ScreenHard

I expected the first Nokia call to be a casual introduction, with technical work scheduled later. Instead, the interviewer began asking technical questions immediately, without warning or transition.

Although the role was described like a networking internship, I was asked software and coding questions. I had prepared for an introductory conversation, so I did not feel I had a realistic chance to prepare for that kind of screen. The mismatch made the process feel disorganized and misleading. I left feeling I had been tested on the wrong timeline rather than given a fair chance to show what I could do.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
