First, let me vent about how chaotic this company is.
It was originally scheduled as 4 rounds in one day. Then it got rescheduled a dozen-plus times and ended up as 4 days with 1 round each. The interviewer also got swapped 7-8 times...
On top of that, the interviewer didn't know what I'd been asked in the phone screen, so the question they gave me was the same one as my phone screen, and then they spent another 5 minutes finding a new question.
What I got:
GPU credit II
No multiple parts, it went straight to using the earliest-expiring credit first. Then, if the balance would go negative at any point, every get_balance call after that returns None.
I finished writing it in a little over ten minutes, then we made awkward small talk for twenty-plus minutes. The interviewer kept replying on Slack and I had to repeat every question twice, so we just stopped talking.
He seemed fine as a person, the company is just way too busy. Probably the kind of round where if your code works, you're good.
Oh right, his follow-up was something he saw in the system. After reading it out loud he didn't understand it himself, so he said never mind, forget it.
He came up with one on his own instead: if there are tons and tons of credit changes, how would you optimize the system.
