After a recruiter touchpoint, the process followed a structured sequence: an online coding assessment and then technical interviews. The assessment used a proctored platform and LeetCode-style problem solving, so it felt like a real filter. I scored well, then moved into backend-focused discussions and deeper computer science topics.
The technical rounds covered data structures and algorithms, backend basics such as databases, correctness and performance, as well as system design, API design, and distributed-systems concepts. I also discussed previous projects in a way that showed how I approached implementation decisions.
What stayed with me was the lack of continuity. Even when I felt confident in my answers, scheduling and follow-up dragged on, and I was rejected without much sense of what they were looking for. The questions sometimes felt loosely anchored and more open-ended than the recruiter had led me to expect, so I could not tell what level of payment-processor or transaction thinking they wanted. It felt like a long effort with diminishing returns once the signal became vague.
