Remitly Software Engineer interview: two coding interviews and values-based behavioral round

Remitly·Software Engineer·Reported Nov 2022
Easy

After applying, I didn’t do anything especially elaborate up front. Everything took place online over Zoom, and the process focused heavily on values. The interviews seemed designed to assess how I’d show up, not just how I’d code.

My interview day combined two technical coding interviews with a behavioral interview centered on the company’s core values. One interviewer gave me a clear framework for structuring my behavioral answers. I then moved into coding and used my preferred language. The coding portion involved practical problem solving followed by Q&A rather than a single trick question.

Overall, it felt like an easier loop, and the questions matched what they said they cared about. I left with a clear sense of what they were evaluating, even though there wasn’t an offer at the end.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: Neutral. Offer status: No offer.
