The recruiter screen felt rigid and nearly scripted. It was not unfriendly, and I appreciated receiving guidance about the next steps, but it came across as robotic and straightforward.
The hiring-manager stage was stressful because the format differed from what I had been told. In addition to the assessment I expected, I was given extra tasks connected to companies I had researched. That cut into time to think through the assessment, so I felt I was juggling requirements instead of being given a clean chance to show my reasoning. The hiring manager made the experience somewhat better, but I still left tense.
The timeline added more stress. In one experience, I waited about a week, asked for feedback, and received an automated rejection a couple of days later. In another, multiple stages and a test during an interview made the process long, guided, and exhausting. The most frustrating case involved very slow scheduling, unclear stages, and someone who did not seem to understand the role or ask relevant questions. I never received an offer from these paths. The journey felt uneven in communication, timing, and who assessed me.
