The beginning felt fairly normal. I had a recruiter screen with basic resume questions, then spoke with the hiring manager about the role. Those early interviews were quick and structured, so I thought I was in good shape.
The tone changed once I got deeper into the process. During the manager conversation, I felt as if I'd already been marked down somehow because of how I "looked the part," even though I was answering in good faith. It was hard not to read into that energy.
When the process ended, I didn't feel I'd been given a fair explanation. There was just a lack of momentum and a conclusion that didn't match the effort I had put in. I didn't move forward, and my main impression was that the outcome seemed shaped more by personal impressions than by a transparent evaluation.
