My interview process was drawn out. It started well enough, but the ending left a sour feeling. I first had a recruiting call, followed by a technical screen after some preparation from the recruiter. The last part was the most exhausting. The final round was a loop with many interviews, and my experience varied by interviewer. Some seemed distracted or disorganized, which made the day feel longer than it needed to.
The technical screen format threw me off. I joined a call and received questions with extremely long descriptions within a very short time window. My impression was that the screen cared more about how quickly I could start coding than about my thought process or communication. I didn't feel I had much room to clarify the questions or reason out loud.
After the final loop, I felt completely in the dark. I hadn't heard anything for about a week, so I reached out to the recruiting coordinator, but there was no clear debrief and no decision communicated. Eventually, I saw a rejection. Being left without closure made the whole experience harder to shake.
