A sales director in Brazil posted on LinkedIn looking for Account Executives. I messaged her with my CV and pointed out that there wasn't a job link or formal posting to apply through.
She asked for an English CV, an English cover letter and references from a previous line manager, mentioning WhatsApp as well. She explained that the global hiring leaders were overseas, so English mattered. She hadn't opened my CV in that first exchange. I sent the revised materials and references right away.
She mentioned receiving hundreds of CVs from the post, but I never heard back. A few weeks later, a proper job description and application link appeared on LinkedIn and the company site. I found that hard to reconcile with the earlier claims of a structured process.
I didn't receive an offer. The lack of follow-up and closure was what stayed with me, especially given how confidently the process had been described.
Location: Brazil. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
