Software Engineer interview at Sonata: interview experience

After a recruiter call through Risebird, I went through two rounds that felt disconnected from the client and the actual role. Neither interviewer seemed to know much about what the project needed, and the second round repeated the same problem. The interviewer also appeared unaware of what had been covered before, and I could not get a clear explanation of how the interviews related to the client’s expectations.

The silence afterward bothered me even more. I sent several follow-up emails for feedback or a status update and received nothing. The process felt disorganized and opaque enough that I wondered whether there was an actual hiring need behind the interviews.

I never got closure and came away worn down by the communication breakdown. The interviews themselves were okay, but the lack of transparency made the process hard to trust.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
