I had a very quick conversation with HR, then was told I had passed and should wait for the position to open. The offer seemed clear and matched the job description. The interview itself was objective and respectful, with questions that fit the role, and the timeline was within what they had indicated. I felt calm about it.
What knocked the wind out of me was everything after that. I had supposedly been approved, but no concrete update came about what was happening. I waited for months without decent information about whether the process had been canceled or whether I would still be called.
The initial process was handled well, but the silence after approval left me discouraged and frustrated. That earlier positive response had created and sustained an expectation that never received a real follow-up.
