Stubhub Software Engineer interview: Codility, CodeSignal, and resume-based technical screen

The process moved quickly into online testing and stopped just as fast. I took a Codility-style assessment with a limited time window and submitted everything before time ran out, but I never heard back. At another stage, I completed a CodeSignal assessment with several LeetCode-style questions. The focus was on getting working solutions rather than writing the most elegant algorithms. I ran out of time on the last question, but I still felt my overall approach was solid. I was rejected.

In a separate experience, I had a recruiter phone call followed by a technical screen. The questions drew heavily from my resume and included a medium arrays LeetCode topic. After the screen, I received an email saying I wouldn’t move forward. The result felt abrupt and hard to interpret because the feedback didn’t match what I’d experienced during the call.

I didn’t get an offer. My takeaway was that the pipeline relied heavily on quick decisions after the assessments, and the lack of follow-up made it difficult to understand what passing meant beyond the scores.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: Negative. Offer status: No offer.
