The process took longer than I expected, and the lack of momentum was the hardest part. Early conversations were about background and fit, but some interviews felt scripted, as if the interviewer was tracking their own responses more than engaging with mine. I still answered fully and tried to make my story coherent.
After recruiter and later rounds, there was a lot of silence. Emails requested documents and updates and made it seem as if things were moving, but nothing tangible followed. In one case I was told I would speak with the VP of sales within a week and never heard back, even after following up. In another, a final conversation seemed promising but ended in an automated rejection.
I did not get an offer. The lack of closure felt unprofessional after the time I had invested, and I was left not knowing what I missed or why I was not considered further.
