The Walt Disney Software Engineer Interview Experience: Disorganized scheduling and role mismatch

The Walt Disney·Software Engineer·Reported Jul 2026

About a week after applying, I had a recruiter screen with two resume-related questions and little useful role detail beyond the posting. A week later I supplied availability for a hiring-manager round about two weeks away.

Scheduling then became difficult. None of my offered times worked, and I was asked to fit the interviewer's availability. The technical content also mismatched the stated job: it was described as managing a mobile development team, but a data-engineering lead asked data challenges rather than mobile questions. The behavioral interviewer seemed unprepared and appeared to make things up as they went. More than a month and three rounds later, the lack of coordination between the consultancy side and HR made the experience painful and slow, despite people mostly being nice.

Location: Bengaluru. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
