ThoughtWorks Software Engineer interview experience

After a recruiter conversation, I went directly into a coding-focused process. There was a take-home code challenge on clean code, object-oriented thinking, and testing. When I finished, a pairing-style round asked me to show how the solution fit the current design and explain the full flow rather than simply hand over code.

It was moderately difficult because working code was not enough. I also had to explain the design and trade-offs. I thought I communicated clearly in the pairing round, but the eventual feedback did not match what I had said or the choices I had made while following the guidance. The plan also changed mid-stream, and the lack of coordination made the process more stressful than it needed to be.

I did not clear the interviews. I was disappointed not only by the result, but by evaluation criteria that seemed to shift and made the process hard to trust as fair.

Location: Bengaluru. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
