Amazon Account Executive interview: strict behavioral calibration

The first call set a hard tone. It felt as though the interviewer had very strict expectations: if an answer was not perfect, or was even a little off, the message was that I would not be a fit for the role. Even with that pressure, the process followed a recognizable behavioral format. The questions were tied to my experience and to how I had handled prior situations. The atmosphere shifted betw…

Amazon Account Executive interview: behavioral stories and Leadership Principles

After a recruiter screen, I had interviews about my previous experience and behavioral examples, with situational and problem-solving questions mixed in. Communication was clear, and the panel was approachable, which made it less intimidating than I expected. The conversations were about how I worked, handled situations, and made decisions rather than intense technical drills. Amazon Leadership P…

Amazon Software Engineer Interview Experience: OA with AI website debugging

The process began with an online assessment with several parts, then moved to interviews. The OA included medium-to-hard DSA problems, a work simulation where a website had a bug and I was expected to use AI to work through it, and several behavioral, situation-focused questions. The interview stages had a similar emphasis on scenarios and problem framing rather than one isolated coding question.…

Amazon Software Engineer interview: four friendly interviews over two days

I completed four friendly Amazon interviews, each about an hour, over two days. The questions covered system design, LeetCode-style coding, behavioral topics, and my use of AI. The loop was long but not especially difficult. Because the tone stayed approachable, I could focus on explaining my thought process instead of only racing to write code. I left with a clearer sense of the balance they wan…

Amazon Software Engineer interview: technical assessment and team rounds

I applied online, completed a technical assessment, and then had a couple of interviews with people from the team I would work with. The process was simple and team aligned rather than chaotic. It had multiple rounds but did not feel like a prolonged gauntlet. The difficulty was easy, and it felt more like a check of fit and baseline skills than a difficult hiring process. Location: South Africa.…

Amazon Software Engineer interview: Two Sum and substring offer

I received an OA with two DSA questions and behavioral questions. I then had one interview with two more DSA questions at easy to easy-medium difficulty: Two Sum and longest substring without repeating characters. The interview followed the same basic DSA pattern as the assessment, and the two questions were the kind of fundamentals I could work through directly. The process moved quickly and fel…

Amazon Software Engineer interview

This was an online virtual loop focused on data-center work, with several rounds over a couple of days. Each round mixed situation-based and behavioral prompts with technical discussion relevant to that environment. The interviewers ranged from manager to principal and staff engineer. The individual questions felt average in difficulty, but the multi-day schedule and seniority of the interviewers…

Amazon Software Engineer interview: coding, repository debugging and two design questions

My online assessment combined coding with questions about how I work. It included classic coding problems and AI-assisted project or debugging prompts where I traced issues through a realistic repository. There was also a leadership or fit component and a substantial system-design element. By then, I could see the assessment covered much more than standard LeetCode questions. Next came a recruite…

Amazon Software Engineer interview: a high-pressure technical and behavioral process

The interview process felt intentionally intense and streamlined, but still brutal. It mixed behavioral and technical questions with artificial time pressure, like being given something massive to complete in about an hour as a deliberate stress test. It seemed designed to see whether I would break under constraints, and it matched what I had heard about high-attrition hiring models at companies…

Amazon Software Engineer interview: four-round onsite loop with bar raiser

I went through a four-round loop spread across two onsite rounds. Each interview mixed behavioral questions with a technical segment, except for one that was behavioral-only. The technical topics included strings, priority queues, and object-oriented design. A bar-raiser-style round was part of the loop and felt notably harder than the others. Even with the mix of topics, the structure was consis…

Amazon Robotics Engineer interview: AI-assisted code modification and DSA

My loop had two main rounds. The first focused on generative AI: I received a coding question and then had to modify the code using any AI model. The second was still heavy on DSA, but I was not asked to use AI for that round. The overall difficulty felt easier. What made the process different was the explicit requirement to use AI for code modification instead of treating it as optional. I felt…

Amazon Software Engineer interview: monitored OAs and three-engineer panel coding

My first interaction was a phone screen, a precursor to a heavier assessment. I completed several webcam-monitored online assessments on coding, bug catching, and behavioral decision-making for culture fit. After clearing them, I had a panel interview with three engineers, taking turns one by one. Each interview had coding and behavioral parts, with segments of roughly 45 to 60 minutes. The OA in…

Amazon Account Executive interview: STAR answers under strict timing

My process mixed structure with friction. I went through multiple stages centered on behavioral evaluation, with questions mapped to Amazon Leadership Principles and answered in a STAR-style format. In one phase, I worked through tasks with others and found it hard to finish everything on time, especially while collaborating with people I did not know. Across the rounds, interviewers wanted detai…

Amazon Account Executive Interview Experience: Four-week Leadership Principles loop

I applied online for an SMB-focused AWS account executive role. The assessment went well, followed by two interviews and then an interview loop. The whole process took about four weeks from start to finish and felt structured compared with other processes I had experienced. The focus throughout was on telling my story clearly and connecting it to Amazon's Leadership Principles. Because the pace w…

Amazon Software Engineer Interview Experience: Coding, debugging, and behavioral checks

The early stages mixed quick screening with focused technical checks. I had a phone interview of about 45 minutes, split between behavioral questions and a coding problem with follow-ups. The interviewer was warm and nice, which made it easier to think. Earlier in the pipeline, I also remember a quick chat, an OA, more behavioral questions, and then a technical round with medium LeetCode question…

Amazon Software Engineer interview with coding, aptitude, technical, and fit stages

My process began with an online assessment that combined coding and aptitude questions. After I cleared it, I had one or two technical interviews on data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and general problem solving. The final round shifted to fit, with behavioral questions about communication, teamwork, and overall alignment. The experience was challenging because I was evalua…

Amazon Software Engineer interview obtained through a hackathon with a friendly online coding round

I got the opportunity through an Amazon hackathon, and the process began with an online interview. The interviewer was friendly and easy to talk to, which helped because the session started with a simple introduction before moving into the questions. The coding portion felt medium difficulty overall. It was not the most intimidating format, but it still required me to explain myself clearly while…

Amazon Software Engineer interview with an emergency reschedule and four-part final loop

After recruiter communication, scheduling moved smoothly except for an interviewer emergency that required a reschedule. I eventually reached the final loop, which had four back-to-back technical interviews. Amazon Project Manager interview with a timed AI-led Leadership Principles screening

My process started with a recruiter email screen, followed soon by a recorded, timed virtual interview led by AI. A virtual interviewer asked behavioral questions tied to Amazon's Leadership Principles. I answered on camera and had to handle follow-up prompts while the clock kept moving, which made it feel more pressured than a normal screen. About a week later, I had a one-hour video interview w…

Amazon Software Engineer interview with a team-aligned pair of one-hour technical sessions

I received an online assessment first, and then the process moved quickly to interviews aligned with the team I was being considered for. I had two interviews on the same day, each about an hour. Both mixed behavioral questions about past experiences and how I had worked with technical questions. The difficulty felt lighter than what I had heard about similar loops. The day felt manageable becaus…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.

Share your own

Likes must come from established accounts; like-for-like swaps and likes from your own second account are not paid.
