VP Chat, Four Rounds, Then Team Matching

Cross Cloud org. Round 1 was a chat with a VP. Round 2 was an OA; one of the questions was problem 443. Round 3 was two VOs, one coding and one system design. The coding was problem 460. The system design was to design a coffee shop order system. Round 4 was the onsite, same as above. The coding question was the same as the one in another thread on this forum — maybe a bit more complex, because y…

Three Rounds from Streaming Top K to Payment Design

Round 1 Find the top K most frequent elements in an infinite data stream. Convert a sorted doubly linked list in place into a balanced binary search tree without creating any new nodes. Round 2 I had to implement merge sort by hand: Implement merge sort from scratch. Explain its recursion tree in detail. I also had to implement operations involving set bits and find all anagrams. Round 3: System…

Software Engineer interview at Salesforce: Futureforce offer

I applied to the Futureforce tech accelerator and received a HackerRank OA with two or three LeetCode questions. After about a month, I advanced and attended an online preparation presentation with engineers for the system-design discussions ahead. The interview combined behavioral discussion of projects and AI use with a LeetCode question and follow-ups. A week later, I received and accepted an…

Salesforce Account Executive interview: demoralizing recruiter process

The recruiters made me feel as though my time was something I should be grateful to spend, and I did not feel heard. They seemed to move through checklists and pass me to other recruiters to see which openings existed. The process dragged with gaps in communication. I was asked whether I would take a lower role to get in, with the implication that others step back to join Salesforce. By the hirin…

Salesforce Customer Success Engineer interview experience

After speaking with the recruiter, I had a technical round where I discussed my project experience and worked through a piece of provided code. I was asked to make the code more production-ready, and the coding-style questions connected back to OOP concepts. The later managerial round focused on customer work: how I would handle situations, manage relationships, and name a few Salesforce products…

Salesforce Software Engineer interview: DFS and scalable-system design

My process began with a recruiter screen and then a technical round built around a hard LeetCode-style DSA problem that leaned heavily on DFS. I spent the session working through the approach and tradeoffs while trying to keep my reasoning clear. After that, I had a high-level design interview about scalability and reliability. It pushed me beyond an immediate coding solution toward how a system…

Salesforce Customer Success Engineer Interview Experience: HackerRank through techno-managerial

My process had three direct rounds. First came an online HackerRank coding session focused on problem-solving. Then I had a technical round that covered Stack versus Heap, debugging a snippet to find the cause of a NullPointerException, and HTTP methods. The final step was described as techno-managerial. That fit the overall process: I expected to show technical grounding while also explaining ho…

Salesforce Account Executive interview with a three-stage in-person panel and account strategy

The recruiter process was organized and supportive. I got guidance that made the next steps clearer, along with preparation materials that helped me understand the expectations. The flow appeared to have three stages, with the last round as an in-person panel. The interviews were structured and purposeful. Instead of asking the same behavioral questions repeatedly, each interviewer focused on a d…

Salesforce Account Executive interview with Dublin relocation questions and mismatched rejection feedback

After a couple of early steps that felt fairly normal, the process broke down at the fourth stage. I had been told that the third interview would focus on my motivations and details around relocating to Dublin, so I prepared for that context and answered accordingly. When the rejection feedback finally arrived, it cited commercial skills that, as far as I understood, had never been asked about or…

Rushed Team Match, Ghosted Before the Onsite

This was a really baffling hiring process. Is Salesforce's general hire now all team-specific interviews instead of a unified track? Round 1: OA — sent later on, an online test on the HackerRank platform. If I remember right it was LeetCode-style stuff, not too hard, but the test cases were kind of annoying. After I passed, about a month later an HR person reached out — but it wasn't the general-…

Five Onsite Rounds, Every One Circles Back to Multi-Tenancy

Sharing my interview experience with Salesforce. My impression of this company is very different from consumer-product companies: the problems themselves aren't going for difficulty, but almost every round eventually circles back to "what if this system is shared by a lot of customers." Multi-tenancy, permissions, and configurability ran through the whole interview. There was also a whole round d…

Onsite Coding Project, Offer the Next Day

My background: undergrad from University of Washington, CSE, with about 5 years of YOE. Timeline: Week 1: HR Screening Week 2: Three virtual interview rounds (HM + Project + AI Fundamentals) Week 3: On-site (Coding Project + System Design) One day after the on-site: HR was incredibly efficient and gave me a verbal offer right away. HR Screening Mainly talked about my current interest and my work…

Recruiter Forgot About Me, Then a No-Coding Cloud Round

In April, a recruiter reached out and scheduled a video call to get a sense of my situation. They mentioned there would be a lot of openings coming after that. In June I noticed a large number of Salesforce job postings, but the recruiter had forgotten about me, so I emailed to nudge them. I was interviewing for SDE 2. Round 1: hiring manager screening. Mostly asked about my background and why I…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.

Share your own

Every published experience earns 50 XP, and each of the first 3 likes it receives in a day earns you 10 XP more. Likes must come from established accounts; like-for-like swaps and likes from your own second account are not paid. Write it while the details are fresh — the round order, the exact prompts, and how much time you were given are what the next reader needs.
