Rejected Right Before the System Design Round

League is a leading HealthTech company headquartered in Toronto. A friend referred me, and I quickly got a screen scheduled with HR. After that came a take-home assessment, no language restriction (they use Go internally). It wasn't a LeetCode-style algorithm question — instead you had to build a server, including various APIs, implementing some operations on a matrix (reverse, add, etc.). The as…

One Technical Screen, a Rare Trie/Heap Question, No Offer

A bit unlucky — I ran into an interviewer for this round. At first I was pretty happy, thinking we might have something in common, but then I got the lowest-frequency, hardest question in the database, and I didn't finish it. I ended up failing. I'm not sure whether it was because of the coding, or my resume, or maybe just because I didn't finish the coding — either way, my feedback didn't stack…

Passed Two Case Rounds, Lost at the HM Round

The whole loop was 5 rounds, and each round felt like beating a boss to level up. Round 1: SQL + case The SQL part was basically very similar to another post I've seen on the forum — there were some variations on the questions, but the topics were the same. After the SQL, there was a case. They gave me a credit card approval rate time series from Jan 2013 to Jan 2015. There was a dip in Feb 2013,…

A Case Round That Was All Numbers, No Strategy

Capital One Senior Business Analyst When I was prepping for this interview and came looking for interview reports, all I could find were ones for data analyst roles, so I told myself that once I finished mine, I'd write one up to help other people interviewing for business analyst positions. Let me introduce my background first (though probably nobody's interested) — I have a Business Analytics m…

Three Case Rounds, a Scheduling Mishap, and a Rejection

Round 1 had two interviewers — one leading, one silent the whole time. The BQ was a standard "help others" question. They followed up with a lot of detail, including what materials or records existed for the help I gave, and what I had to sacrifice or give up something important to help someone. A handful of other detail questions too. Then came the first case. It started by bringing up the reven…

A 70-Minute, 15-Question OA With Excel, SQL, and Stats

Capital One Senior DA Submitted my application on the 9th and got the OA the next morning on the 10th. Then my procrastination kicked in at full strength and I put it off all the way until today, emmmmm. Overall the difficulty wasn't too high, just like people here have said. It's split into three parts, 15 questions, 70 minutes. You get your score right when you finish, and it logs how long you…

A Smooth Power Day of Case, BQ, Case, and DC

I interviewed for C1's power day this week. Coming back to give back to the forum with my interview experience. I was nervous going in because I hadn't finished prepping in time, but the whole process turned out to be pretty smooth and not that hard. My power day order was case-bq-case-dc. Round 1, case: a coding-style one, I'd already come across this one before so no real questions there. Round…

SQL Then a Teen-Safety Product Question

In early May I got an interview invitation from HR, so I scheduled the phone screen for late May. After the interview started, we chatted for about 10 minutes, talking about why I wanted to join Facebook. Then the DS interviewing me asked whether I wanted to start with SQL or a product question. I picked SQL first, and we jumped straight into it: Table: Date, Timestamp, sender_id, receiver_id Thi…

Take-Home Challenge, Then a Four-Round PowerDay and an Offer in Under 50 Minutes

Yesterday morning was PowerDay, 9:00am-12:30pm Eastern Time. I'm in Vancouver, so I dragged myself out of bed at 5:20am for the interview. Luckily it went well — less than 50 minutes after the interview ended I got an email from the recruiter with an offer writeup, and now the next step is team matching. I've been sending out résumés for a year and a half and honestly it made me want to die, cons…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.

Share your own

Every published experience earns 50 XP, and each of the first 3 likes it receives in a day earns you 10 XP more. Likes must come from established accounts; like-for-like swaps and likes from your own second account are not paid. Write it while the details are fresh — the round order, the exact prompts, and how much time you were given are what the next reader needs.
