DataLemur Pricing (2026): Plans, Free Access, and What You Get
Quick Overview
DataLemur is partly free: a free account previews part of its 106-question public catalog, and Premium costs $15 a month or $60 a year, with a $300 coaching and lifetime bundle, as of October 2026. Its terms rule out trials, discounts and default refunds. PracHub covers the SQL, analytics and statistics rounds with most questions free to read.
Partly. DataLemur is a freemium site: a free account lets you preview and test much of its content, including a public catalog of 106 questions and a free SQL tutorial, while Premium costs $15 a month or $60 a year as of October 2026. A $300 one-time bundle adds a one-hour call with founder Nick Singh, a signed copy of his book and lifetime access. The public catalog does not mark which questions or solutions are free. For more SQL practice from recent interviews, PracHub is free to start.

Quick Verdict
Choose DataLemur Premium when your next round is an analytics SQL screen, you want an in-browser editor with hints on a short curated list, and $60 for a year is an easy spend. Buy Yearly if you will practice for four months or more, Monthly otherwise, and skip the $300 bundle unless the coaching call is the thing you actually want.
Choose PracHub when your loop also has experimentation, product metrics, statistics or ML rounds, or you want to see what a specific company asked recently before paying anyone. Most of its questions are free to read, and it is free to start with an optional paid tier.

The math is simple. Four months of Monthly costs the same $60 as a full year of Yearly, so anyone whose prep runs four months or more should buy Yearly, and anyone with a screen next month should buy Monthly and cancel once the screen is done. The $180 strike-through is an anchor, not a sale: DataLemur's own terms say it offers no discounts.
Two numbers on its own pages do not agree, and you should know that before paying. DataLemur's blog post comparing itself with StrataScratch says Premium starts "at just $10/month", while the pricing page lists Monthly at $15 as of October 14, 2026. The pricing page is the one to trust. Question counts drift the same way: the pricing copy promises 100+ SQL questions and 70+ data science questions, the page description says 200+, the lifetime bundle says 250+, and the logged-out catalog lists 106. The true total behind the paywall is unknown from the public site.
What You Get for Free
When checked on October 14, 2026, the logged-out question list showed 106 questions: 54 SQL, 39 Python, 7 statistics, 5 machine learning and 1 probability, split 40 Easy, 47 Medium and 19 Hard, across 46 company labels. A free account lets you open and run part of that list in the in-browser editor. Its terms put the rule bluntly: there are only free accounts and paid subscriptions, nothing in between.
What the free tier does not tell you is the important part. No question in the public catalog is marked free or premium, and the embedded access fields are empty when you are logged out, so you cannot see in advance which problems come with a full solution, and its public site does not say which ones do.
The data science side is thinner than the marketing suggests: logged out, only 13 questions are statistics, ML or probability, against the "70+ Data Science interview questions" on the pricing page. Whether the rest sits behind Premium is not stated.
Company depth in the public list is shallow. Only four named companies reach five or more questions (Amazon 11, Facebook 9, Google 7, Microsoft 5), 22 companies have a single question each, and 7 questions sit under the generic label "FAANG".
Hidden Costs and Billing Terms
The prices are clear. The terms behind them favor the seller, and all of these were read on October 14, 2026:
- No free trial, no discounts. Section 15 of its terms says so in one line. The free account is the only trial you get.
- Non-refundable by default. Paid subscription fees are non-refundable "except when required by law". Refunds are considered case by case, at the company's sole discretion, by emailing the founder.
- Cancelling only stops renewal. You keep access to the end of the period and get no refund for it. The one exception: if the cancellation itself failed, it can refund you from the date you asked to cancel.
- The cancel control is behind login. It lives on the Premium page, which renders an empty shell without a session.
- Prices can change without notice. Its terms say so plainly. Its public pages do not state renewal-notice terms or any team, student or regional pricing.
- No help pages. /faq, /terms and /refund return 404; the refund rules live inside the terms of service.
- No accuracy promise. Content is provided "as is", with no commitment to update it.
Treat every DataLemur purchase as final. That matters little at $15, more at $60, and a lot at $300.
Is DataLemur Worth the Price?
For an analytics SQL screen, yes. Joins, window functions and CTEs on FAANG-style tables are exactly what it drills, the editor comes with hints and solutions, and $60 for a year is cheaper than most data-interview subscriptions. Its homepage quotes a senior data analyst at Amazon who says two of its SQL problems appeared in her onsite. If SQL is the round you fear, Monthly for a few weeks is a sensible spend.
For a full data science loop, no. The question filters cover only SQL, Python, statistics, probability and machine learning. The Python set is generic algorithm exercises such as Two Sum and Fizz Buzz Sum, according to a comparison written by a competitor, DataDriven. Difficulty labels are loose too: on its 2022 Hacker News launch, the founder said difficulty was set "just off the vibes". Our honest review of whether DataLemur is enough for data science interviews covers the content in more depth.
How to decide in four steps:
- Open a free account first and count how many questions under your target company's label open with a full solution. Compare that with the free questions in PracHub's SQL and pandas questions.
- If your SQL screen is under four months away, buy Monthly and cancel renewal once the screen is done.
- If your prep runs longer, buy Yearly; it costs the same as four months.
- Buy the $300 bundle only if the one-hour call with Nick Singh is what you want. The question access in it is Yearly plus lifetime.
When DataLemur Wins
DataLemur is the right purchase in a few clear cases:
- Your next round is an analytics SQL screen and you want a short, curated list in an in-browser editor rather than a huge bank.
- You own Ace the Data Science Interview and want to practice its questions interactively; 28 questions on the site are tagged to the book.
- You are targeting Amazon, Meta or Google SQL screens, its deepest company tags.
- You want founder coaching, a signed book and lifetime access in one payment, and $300 is fine.
Cheaper Ways to Get the Same Outcome
If the goal is passing a data interview loop rather than finishing a curated SQL list, you can do most of the work for free. As of October 2026, PracHub has more than 12,000 interview questions from more than 550 companies, and more than 8,000 of them are free to read. More than 7,000 have an in-depth written solution, and more than 1,100 have both a free question and a free solution; on the rest of those with a solution, the full write-up is part of the paid tier. Each question is a report from a real, recently asked interview.
Asked at Amazon: Find recommended friend pairs by shared songs
A music-app SQL problem: from a listening log and an undirected friendships table, find which user pairs count as recommended friend pairs on a given date based on the songs they share.
Asked at Glean: SQL: Zero-Filled DAU, Rolling 30-Day MAU, and the MAU Impact of a User-ID Rehash
A one-hour data scientist SQL round with five questions and follow-ups: build a daily active user series with no missing days, a rolling 30-day MAU, and reason about how re-hashing user IDs would move MAU.
Asked at Waymo: Welch's t-Test p-Value for a Routing Experiment on Time to Pickup, and Its Validity
From a timed online assessment: compute a Welch's t-test p-value in pandas for a routing experiment on time to pickup, then argue whether the test is valid. DataLemur's question filters have no experimentation category.

Practice these on PracHub
Start with SQL, since that is what DataLemur sells, then cover the analytics and statistics rounds it does not.
- SQL and pandas (Load daily JSONL LLM chat logs into a warehouse · Find recommended friend pairs by shared songs · Zero-filled DAU and rolling 30-day MAU); more in the SQL and pandas questions.
- Analytics and experimentation (How would you use propensity score matching here · Welch's t-test for a routing experiment); more in the analytics and experimentation questions.
- Statistics and math (Choose classification metrics under asymmetric costs); more in the statistics and math questions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is DataLemur free?
Partly. DataLemur is a freemium site: a free account can preview and test much of the content, the public catalog listed 106 questions when checked on October 14, 2026, and the SQL tutorial and 9-day crash course are free. Premium costs $15 a month or $60 a year as of October 2026. The public catalog does not mark which questions or full solutions are free, and its public site does not say which ones are.
How much does DataLemur cost?
As of October 14, 2026, its pricing page lists Premium at $15 a month or $60 a year, and a $300 one-time bundle that adds a one-hour call with Nick Singh, a signed copy of Ace the Data Science Interview and lifetime access. DataLemur's own blog comparison with StrataScratch still quotes $10 a month, so go by the pricing page, and note its terms say prices can change without notice.
Does DataLemur offer refunds?
Not by default. Its terms of service, checked on October 14, 2026, say paid subscription fees are non-refundable except when required by law, and that refund requests are considered case by case at the company's sole discretion by emailing the founder. Cancelling only stops renewal: you keep access to the end of the period and get nothing back for it. Treat every purchase as final.
Are there DataLemur discount codes or a free trial?
Its terms say DataLemur does not offer any discounts or free trials, only free accounts and paid subscriptions (checked on October 14, 2026). The struck-through $180 next to the $60 yearly price is a display anchor, not a sale. Be skeptical of any site selling a DataLemur promo code.
What is a free alternative to DataLemur?
PracHub is free to start with an optional paid tier, and most questions are free to read. As of October 2026 it has more than 700 SQL and pandas questions, more than 900 analytics and experimentation questions and more than 600 statistics and math questions, reported from real recent interviews.
Final Verdict
DataLemur is partly free and cheap to upgrade: $15 a month or $60 a year as of October 2026, with a $300 bundle that adds a coaching call, a signed book and lifetime access. For a SQL-only analytics screen it is good value, and Yearly beats Monthly once your prep runs past four months.
The catch is in the terms and the scope. There is no trial, no discount and no refund by default, the catalog does not say what is free, and its question catalog stops at SQL, Python and a thin layer of statistics and ML. If your loop includes experimentation or product rounds, you will need more than DataLemur either way.
Use the free tier first, buy the cheapest plan that covers your timeline, and prepare the rest of the loop on real questions: start with PracHub's SQL interview questions.
