Hello Interview Pricing (2026): Plans, Free Access, and What You Get

October 14, 2026
13 min read

Quick Overview

Much of Hello Interview is free, but Premium has no trial and no legitimate free route; as of October 14, 2026 it costs $47 for a month, $95 for a year or $319 lifetime as one-time, non-renewing purchases. This page covers the free tier's limits, the non-refundable terms, the month-then-upgrade trap and the break-even math between a month, a year and lifetime, and points to PracHub's free, company-specific system design questions as the cheaper start.

Free

Partly. Much of Hello Interview is free: System Design in a Hurry, the company guides and its YouTube channel. Premium is not, and there is no legitimate way to get it for free: no trial, one free Guided Practice problem, and shared accounts can be terminated without a refund. As of October 14, 2026, Premium is a one-time purchase of $47 for a month, $95 for a year or $319 for lifetime access. For free company-specific practice, start with PracHub's real system design questions.

Pricing and product details were checked on October 14, 2026.

Quick Verdict

Choose Hello Interview Premium when your gap is senior or staff system design at one of the seven companies it writes level guides for, you have already read the free System Design in a Hurry material and liked the teaching, and you want AI Guided Practice that critiques your whiteboard step by step. Buy the year outright rather than a month plus an upgrade.

Choose PracHub when you want to see what a specific company asked recently, across system design, ML system design and behavioral rounds, and you want to start without paying. Most questions are free, and PracHub is free to start with an optional paid tier.

Premium covers the premium breakdowns and videos, the System Design, Low-Level Design, Concurrency and Behavioral courses, AI Guided Practice, a crowd-sourced question library and an AI tutor with "unlimited" questions. Its premium page counted 65 premium articles, 29 premium videos, 66 Guided Practices and 5.3k reported questions on October 14, 2026; the counters move.

What You Get for Free

Its FAQ says much of the content is free on the site and YouTube. That holds up: a free account gets a real syllabus.

There is no free trial of Premium, per the FAQ, so the free courses and that one problem are your trial.

So, to the question people actually search: there is no free way to get Premium content. The only route that costs you nothing is someone else paying, since the site has a gift page behind sign-in. Borrowed logins are a bad bet: Terms 6.2 says access is personal, cannot be shared or transferred, and sharing credentials can end the account and the Premium access without a refund. We do not link or describe reposted Premium material.

Hidden Costs and Billing Terms

All sales are effectively final. Terms 6.3 says Premium fees are non-refundable and refunds are at Hello Interview's sole discretion. The FAQ adds that it generally does not refund Premium because the material is consumable, and considers exceptions case by case only for users who have not consumed the content. If you open the breakdowns, assume the money is spent.

Buying a month and upgrading costs more than buying the year. The FAQ says the upgrade credit is a fixed amount, not a refund of what you paid, so month-then-upgrade costs more in total than the year plan. If there is any chance you need more than a month, buy the year up front. Separate searches change the math. As of October 2026, two one-month purchases at $47 each total $94 against $95 for the year, and three total $141, so the year is roughly even at two months of use and $46 cheaper at three, if they fall inside one year. Two short searches more than a year apart cost $94 as two months and $190 as two separate years.

Lifetime means the life of the product. Terms 6.1 makes lifetime access "subject to the continued availability of the Premium service." The product has already shrunk once: Hello Interview ended its human 1:1 mock interviews and mentorship on May 31, 2026, and the refund window for unused mock credits has closed. Practice is now AI-only. Older forum threads about its human coaches describe a product that no longer exists; our page on what to use now that Hello Interview mocks are gone covers the replacements.

Sale prices move. The pricing banner's "% off" figure renders blank in the served page, the /discounts page shows no expiry for YEAREND26, and a third-party directory recorded $78 a year and $275 lifetime on October 9, 2026, five days before we saw $95 and $319. We verified only the October 14 figures. We found no published regional price.

Your answers leave the site. AI features send your responses to third-party AI platforms including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and AnyScale, per the Terms, which also impose binding arbitration unless you opt out.

In its favor: nothing auto-renews. Access simply expires, so there is no surprise charge.

Is Hello Interview Worth the Price?

It is worth it for a narrow, real use case: a senior or staff engineer with a big-tech onsite in the next few weeks whose weak spot is system design. Its 34 AI-guided system design problems with whiteboard feedback (practice page, October 14, 2026) are a focused month of work. If the onsite is a month away, buy one month. If you are job hunting across a whole year or expect to repeat loops, the year at $95 beats a month plus an upgrade by the site's own math. Lifetime at $319 only makes sense if you are sure you will be interviewing again in two or three years and accept that it lasts only as long as Premium does. Even then the cash case is thin. As of October 2026, six separate one-month purchases at $47 total $282 and three separate years at $95 total $285, both under $319; lifetime costs less only from the seventh month ($329) or the fourth year ($380).

It is not worth it if your loop leans on coding or SQL (the Premium cards list no code judge and no SQL practice), or if you need the questions a company is asking now. The question library is crowd-sourced from its users, the site does not say whether reports are verified, and its own pages give four different sizes for it (5,000+, 13,000+, 13,720 reports and 5.3k questions, all on October 14, 2026). Candidates report on Blind (October 2025) that the per-level bar on the practice problems feels lenient; in a separate April 2025 thread, replies call Premium "100% worth it", and one says it suits Staff-level depth.

When Hello Interview wins

  • You want a structured written-plus-video system design syllabus and want to read most of it free before paying.
  • You want AI practice that reads your diagram and prompts you through a FAANG-style system design loop, not just a list of questions.
  • You need level-specific loop guides for Meta, Amazon, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Airbnb or Microsoft (Meta E5, Amazon L6, Google Manager and so on).
  • You dislike subscriptions and prefer a one-time purchase that never renews.

Cheaper Ways to Get the Same Outcome

What you are paying for is walking in having worked the kind of problem that company asks, and much of that does not need Premium. As of October 14, 2026, PracHub lists more than 12,000 real, recently asked interview questions from more than 550 companies, and more than 8,000 of them are free to read. That includes more than 1,500 system design questions, more than 1,500 behavioral and leadership questions and more than 400 ML system design questions. More than 7,000 questions have an in-depth written solution, and more than 1,100 have both a free question and a free solution. PracHub is free to start with an optional paid tier (see pricing).

Its level guides tell you how a loop runs at each level; PracHub shows the specific questions candidates reported at that company. Three from the bank:

Asked at Meta: Design a Notification System That Delivers Events to Users at Scale

Many product services (comments, reactions, friend requests, reminders) emit events that must land as mobile push and in an in-app list. The interviewer leaves the extra channels, such as email and SMS, for you to scope.

Asked at OpenAI: Design a Real-Time Trivia Battle Royale Platform with Live Spectating

Rooms of dozens to a hundred-plus players answer round by round, the wrong and the slowest are knocked out, and spectators watch a live leaderboard. Matchmaking and the live leaderboard are named requirements.

Asked at Google: Design an LLM Agent for Manufacturing: Production Status, Work Orders and Quotes

A natural-language agent must report job progress, open work orders and quote prices against systems that already hold the data. The design question is how the model reaches data and actions that already live in existing systems.

A workflow that keeps the spend at zero until you know you need it:

  1. Read System Design in a Hurry on Hello Interview. It is free and good.
  2. Use its one free Guided Practice problem to see whether AI step-by-step feedback helps you.
  3. Pull your target company's recent questions from PracHub, for example the Meta interview questions.
  4. Work three to five of them out loud on a whiteboard in 35 to 45 minutes each before reading any solution.
  5. Buy Hello Interview's year only if step 2 helped and step 4 exposed gaps you cannot close on your own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Hello Interview free?

Partly. As of October 14, 2026, System Design in a Hurry, the company level guides and the YouTube channel are free with a free account, and you can try one Guided Practice problem. Premium breakdowns, premium videos, most Guided Practice, the question library and the AI tutor are paid.

How much does Hello Interview Premium cost?

When checked on October 14, 2026, Premium cost $47 for one month, $95 for one year and $319 for lifetime access, each a one-time payment that does not auto-renew. Those prices include an automatic 20% discount off list prices of $59, $119 and $399.

Can I get Hello Interview Premium for free?

No. Its FAQ says there is no free trial of Premium, and the only free taste is one Guided Practice problem. Someone else can buy Premium for you through its gift page, but sharing a login breaks its terms and can end the account without a refund.

Does Hello Interview offer refunds?

Rarely. Its terms say Premium fees are non-refundable and refunds are at its sole discretion, and its FAQ says it considers refunds case by case only for users who have not consumed the content. Plan on the purchase being final.

Is there a Hello Interview discount code?

You do not need one. Its discounts page listed YEAREND26 at 20% off all Premium access on October 14, 2026, applied automatically at checkout, with no expiry shown. Sale prices change, so check the price on the day you buy.

What is a free alternative to Hello Interview Premium?

PracHub is a bank of real, recently asked interview questions with in-depth written solutions. As of October 14, 2026 it lists more than 12,000 questions, more than 8,000 of them free to read, including more than 1,500 system design questions. Most questions are free, and it is free to start with an optional paid tier.

Final Verdict

Hello Interview's pricing is straightforward: a large free tier, one-time payments and no auto-renewal. The catches show up after you pay. Refunds are rare and month-then-upgrade costs more than buying the year. Lifetime lasts only as long as Premium does, and the end of human mocks on May 31, 2026 shows the product can change under you.

There is no free route to Premium. Read the free material, try the one Guided Practice problem, and pay for the year only if the AI feedback is what you were missing. If what you were missing is the questions themselves, start with PracHub's free system design questions.
