I had a simple process that still felt somewhat inefficient. It began with a fairly easy online assessment, mostly made up of research-and-knowledge questions, followed by an in-person interview. The stages were clear, and it did not feel like a heavy technical gauntlet.
In a similar part of the process, I had two interviews: a phone screen followed by an in-person meeting with different people, including site members. That made the work environment feel more concrete. Some setups also had panel elements where multiple interviewers asked about my experience and role fit, and the conversations stayed friendly.
The logistics could still make a straightforward process take too long, especially when an in-person discussion could have happened virtually. I did not receive an offer in my most streamlined run, but I left with a clearer sense of the team and the view that the process was simple rather than deeply rigorous.
