Lockheed Martin Software Engineer interview: conversational STAR format

The interview felt more like an extended conversation than a strict test. It was virtual and conversational throughout, with technical leaders asking about my experience and following with situational behavioral questions. They also asked object-oriented-programming questions, and I used STAR to organize my answers.

It began with the usual "tell me about yourself," then they described the role to frame the rest of the discussion. More STAR questions about teamwork followed, and the conversation ended with a couple of technical questions.

The difficulty felt moderate because I had to balance story-based answers with occasional technical depth while keeping the exchange natural. I was not overwhelmed, but it was clear they were weighing communication and whether my technical background fit the job. I left with a solid impression even though I did not receive an offer.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
