Lockheed Martin Software Engineer interview: STAR and LQR

After applying, I followed a familiar structured path: a recruiter-style step and then a standard virtual interview with several behavioral questions and one technical prompt. The process was tightly schedule-driven through email invitations, and the interview questions closely matched what had been described publicly.

I answered a full set of STAR-based behavioral questions and one technical question about an LQR controller. The technical item was not the main focus, but it was the point where the conversation moved from stories to direct concepts. The final part of the timeline moved relatively quickly, and I received an offer about two weeks later.

What stayed with me was the expectation that STAR answers remain consistent across several prompts. The process felt deliberate and efficient, and it ended well despite the pressure of that technical question.

Location: Austin, TX. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: got offer.
