The process felt scripted from the start. A recruiter matched me with a team whose role required TypeScript, even though I hadn't applied specifically to that team. After a phone screen that sounded positive, I heard nothing for two weeks, including after I followed up.
When I finally heard back, I had a conversation with the hiring manager. He was surprised to learn that the technical step had already been marked as passed, which suggested there was very little communication between the recruiter and the later stages. He sounded interested and confirmed that the onsite would proceed, making what happened next even more confusing.
The virtual onsite felt completely different from the hiring manager call. Both interviewers seemed disengaged. I completed only part of the rounds before receiving a message that they had already entered their scores and that neither score was passing, so the remaining rounds were canceled. The timing felt too short for a fair evaluation, and the process left me convinced that the decision wasn't really based on the onsite interviews.
I didn't get an offer. The mismatch between the engaged hiring manager and the rushed, disengaged onsite made the process difficult to trust.
Location: United States. Overall feedback: Negative. Offer status: No offer.
