Notion Labs Solutions Engineer interview with a take-home project and panel demo

My process started with a recruiter and then moved through several formal, time-consuming technical steps. I had a hiring manager screen, a conversation with a teammate, and an extensive take-home project that ended with a panel demo. There was also an interview with the sales team.

After I submitted everything, I was told I'd hear back within a few days. Instead, communication stalled. I eventually received a generic rejection email well after the promised review window. When I asked for feedback, I never received any. Later, I watched the role get reposted repeatedly while nothing seemed to change on the team side. It made the process feel less like hiring and more like collecting signals.

I saw a similar pattern with different recruiters. After I was handed off, messages went unanswered, even after I submitted work. Eventually, the recruiter change led to more silence and another generic rejection. By the end, I felt worn down and genuinely frustrated. It wasn't because I couldn't do the work. The lack of responsiveness and closure made all the time I spent feel pointless. I didn't get an offer, and I walked away feeling that the process hadn't respected my time.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: Negative. Offer status: No offer.
