I went through an assessment-heavy funnel that felt disconnected from actual software work. After applying, I completed a cognitive aptitude and personality-style screen, followed by a one-way video interview where I recorded responses to behavioral prompts. By then, the process already felt automated and generic.
The later stages followed a more traditional technical path, but the pacing and communication made the experience worse. I did a LeetCode-style technical question and then went through onsite-style rounds covering system design and behavioral evaluation. The people I met were friendly, but communication from my recruiter was poor. After I finished the onsite, I either never heard back or was told they were no longer hiring for the role.
The timeline dragged on, with gaps where there was no formal rejection and no response to my follow-ups. By the end, I didn't feel the process respected my time, especially since the early standardized steps felt out of proportion. I finished without an offer. The combination of silence and the heavy emphasis on testing made the whole experience feel sour, even though the interviews themselves weren't terrible.
