An early conversation led quickly to a CoderByte assessment built around trading concepts. The coding was lighter than the systems-style prompts I had seen elsewhere, but it depended on using the right trading vocabulary and mapping it to simple logic. Timing and execution made the difference, and the platform's format pushed me to be precise.
The live coding interview gave me more room to explain my thinking. It began with recruiter-style background questions before moving into trading-specific technical prompts. In one experience I finished well before time and still got a rejection the next day, which confused me. In another, I ran out of time coding and the rejection felt directly connected to that.
The process moved fast and remained somewhat opaque. Communication could be friendly, but feedback was limited and outcomes arrived suddenly. I didn't get an offer, and the mismatch between doable prompts and strict decisions stayed with me.
Location: United States. Overall feedback: neutral. Offer status: no offer.
