I passed an online assessment combining coding with behavioral questions about Amazon Leadership Principles. The next interviews used an in-person-style format over video. The first focused mostly on leadership principles, my experience and previous projects.
Toward the end of the loop, I worked through a system-design coding problem and had more hands-on technical discussions with engineers. I explained my thinking while solving a LeetCode-style question and discussed the solution with several interviewers. The final rounds mixed data structures, system design, debugging and leadership principles. The time limits made the practical questions feel unforgiving.
I didn't receive an offer, but it was still one of my more positive interview experiences. The questions felt fair, and the interviewers were respectful. I learned how much they expected specific STAR examples alongside sound technical fundamentals.
