ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview: four one-hour conversations and AI usage

After an early recruiter stage, I had an Amazon-style loop over two days: four one-hour conversations in total. It was long, but the questions were not impossibly hard. The rounds mixed system design, LeetCode-style coding, and behavioral questions tied to Amazon's style and principles. I was also asked how I think about using AI in real work, rather than only in theory. Communication mattered th…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview: three technical rounds and a behavioral final

I started with an online assessment and then spoke with a recruiter. Next came four rounds over two days, each about an hour. Three were technical, and the fourth was behavioral and based on leadership principles. The behavioral round had no coding. It was entirely about how I had handled past situations. Taking two days made the process drag somewhat, but the questions were not overly punishing.…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview: Two Sum and longest substring questions

The online assessment had two DSA questions and behavioral questions. After that, I had an interview with two more DSA questions at an easy-to-medium level. They were Two Sum at the easy level and Longest Substring Without Repeating Characters at the medium level. The process was smooth and the decision came quickly. I was selected and accepted an offer. The criteria were clear: DSA came first, w…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview: ML fundamentals and a second-round HR discussion

The process was compressed into two rounds: a technical assessment followed by HR. The technical stage covered ML concepts and core computer-science fundamentals, and I was told the difficulty was medium to hard. HR mixed discussion of my resume and projects with questions about how I work and communicate. Across both rounds, they checked whether I could back up what I had written, especially on…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer Interview Experience: a Java, React, SQL, and DevOps assignment

My path began with an assignment that mixed Java depth, React, some SQL, and a smaller DevOps component. It was substantial and felt designed to test end-to-end reasoning rather than isolated coding. The next step was a paper-based written problem-solving round. I was rejected there, and I felt circumstances played a part alongside technical ability. I had traveled a long way for the interview an…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer Interview Experience: easy-to-medium coding with intense LP drilling

The interview began with LeetCode-style problems that were easy to medium, then became more intense through Leadership Principle drilling. About half the time went to LP follow-ups, while the other half went to coding-style questions in the usual LeetCode rhythm. That pattern repeated across two rounds. I was not answering leadership questions once and moving on. I had to explain how I would thin…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview experience: three one-hour conversations

After an initial coding assessment, I had three one-hour interviews with different team members. The first was entirely coding. It moved quickly enough that I had to explain my reasoning as I went, though it never became chaotic. The second split its time between coding and behavioral questions, so I had to change gears while still working on a technical problem. The last was entirely behavioral…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview experience: assessment through virtual onsite

I started with an online assessment and then moved into a virtual onsite. The onsite mixed coding, system design, and behavioral questions, along with discussion of my past experience and projects. Each round had a clear purpose even where the topics overlapped. Coding required the most active problem-solving. In system design, I had to explain tradeoffs and work through how I would tackle a larg…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer Interview Experience: Recruiter call and coding

My first substantive conversation was a phone interview over Chime with a recruiter. It began casually enough that I thought it might remain a relaxed chat. Instead, it quickly shifted into behavioral questions about how I had handled situations, along with one easy LeetCode coding problem. The difficulty was average, but the timing and change in tone caught me off guard. I did not receive an off…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer Interview Experience: Guided online test

Someone from the hiring side contacted me through LinkedIn, and after I applied, the process began with an online test. The questions resembled HackerRank problems, but they came with a few videos that explained the reasoning and approach the company expected. The difficulty felt average. This stage seemed to be testing how I reasoned rather than brute-force coding. I did not receive an offer, th…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview: four rounds in two days

I applied through Amazon Careers without a referral. A recruiter reached out, then I completed an OA. About a month later, I was scheduled for four rounds across two days. The pace was intense. Each interview included 30 minutes of behavioral discussion and 30 minutes of coding. Coding and system-design content were spread across the four interviews, while the overall format stayed consistent fro…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview: four-round design loop

After I cleared the online assessment, I entered the Amazon loop. It had four rounds: two coding interviews, a behavioral interview focused heavily on Amazon Leadership Principles, and a final hiring-manager round that combined coding with high-level design. The first coding round had two LeetCode medium problems. The second moved to a hard problem, with the same expectation that I write clean co…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview: OA and leadership principles

My process started with an online assessment, and it took a long time before I even reached the interview stages. After the OA, I had two interviews, each about 60 minutes. Across the process, I heard that both LeetCode-style problems and leadership principles were part of the evaluation. That meant my prep could not just be DSA. I also had to have specific stories ready for leadership-principle…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview: architect-level questions

I applied through the Amazon job portal and got an HR call. After that, I went through five technical rounds in total: one described as a screening round and the rest scheduled as technical interviews. The early questions felt aimed at architect-level depth even though I was applying as a developer with four years of experience. The first two rounds were the hardest, and the questions pushed beyo…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer interview experience

The process began with online recruitment quizzes full of brain-teaser-style questions that felt irrelevant to the Software Engineer job. I was frustrated because I was not applying to solve riddles. Even at that early stage, the tone affected how I saw everything afterward. It felt disrespectful to my time and did not give me confidence in the evaluation. I did not receive an offer. The difficul…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer Interview Experience: four back-to-back onsite rounds

After the initial recruiter interactions, I had an onsite loop with four back-to-back rounds in one day. It was intense but clearly structured: two coding-heavy rounds with senior engineers, one hiring-manager round, and one behavioral round with a bar raiser. Leadership principles and data-structures topics appeared repeatedly through the day, so I could not really separate the behavioral piece…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer Interview Experience: about three months from assessment to decision

My path began with an online assessment, followed by a recruiter call that set up an onsite loop. The onsite had three consecutive stages: a bar raiser loop, a DSA focused loop, and an LLD focused loop. The full timeline, from the assessment to the final decision, was about three months, far longer than I expected. The interviews felt as though they covered the usual breadth: leadership judgment…

ADCI - Karnataka Network Engineer Interview Experience: online tasks and video prompts

This did not feel like a normal series of recruiter calls and technical interviews. I applied online, and the later steps were mainly online tasks: watching videos, answering questions, and completing work prompts rather than participating in live interviews. I was surprised by how little in person style interviewing there was. After I finished the tasks, I received an email a few days later sayi…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer Interview Experience: DSA, design, and bar raiser

The loop began with demanding technical rounds. I had to work through two LeetCode DSA problems, one medium and one hard. Getting the solution to work was only part of it: I had to explain my thinking, analyze time and space complexity, cover edge cases and optimizations, and discuss alternative approaches and trade offs. Next came system design for a scalable, distributed Amazon style service. W…

ADCI - Karnataka Software Engineer technical phone screen before loop

The process began with a phone screen that lasted about an hour or more. It was mostly technical questions. After I cleared that step, I moved into the loop interview. The loop was the next stage after the initial screen. Difficulty was average, and I did not receive an offer. The first call set the tone because it tested technical thinking right away rather than serving as a casual introduction.…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.

Share your own
