Quick Overview

AlgoMaster leads with pattern-first DSA and low-level design, while Hello Interview leads with system design and free learning tracks. As of October 2026 a year costs $99 at AlgoMaster (list $129) and $95 at Hello Interview (list $119), neither refunds as a rule, and AlgoMaster is the better single buy for covering both rounds.

Free

AlgoMaster vs Hello Interview comes down to which round you keep failing. AlgoMaster leads with pattern-first DSA plus low-level design; Hello Interview leads with system design and gives away strong learning tracks for free. Pick AlgoMaster if coding rounds are your weak spot and Hello Interview if system design is. As of October 2026 a year of access costs $99 at AlgoMaster and $95 at Hello Interview, and both are sale prices. PracHub, which also sells interview prep, publishes this comparison.

Quick Verdict

Choose AlgoMaster when coding rounds are what you fail and you want a structured DSA course with code submissions and low-level design practice in one purchase. As of October 2026 Annual is $99 (marked down from $129) and Lifetime is $199 (from $329), and nothing is refundable.

Choose Hello Interview when system design or low-level design is the gap, especially at senior or staff level, and you want AI-guided whiteboard practice on top of free written tracks. As of October 2026 1 Year Access is $95 after an auto-applied 20% discount off $119.

If you want to start free, pair Hello Interview's free system design tracks with AlgoMaster's free DSA Patterns Sheet, then move on to real, recently asked company questions on PracHub, where most questions are free.

What AlgoMaster Offers

AlgoMaster (algomaster.io, run by Ashish Pratap Singh) sells structured paths for DSA, system design, low-level design and behavioral interviews. As of October 2026 its homepage lists 60+ DSA patterns and 600+ problems with step-by-step animations, 20+ system design patterns, 107 LLD and 50 concurrency practice problems, and AI coding mocks scored out of 100 with a 70/100 hiring bar at mid-level. The course catalog also covers SQL, AI engineering, ML system design and Kafka.

When checked on October 14, 2026, its premium page listed Monthly at $39, Annual at $99 (struck through from $129) and Lifetime at $199 (struck through from $329). Monthly and Annual are one-time payments with no auto-renewal. Free accounts get "a significant portion" of the DSA course and the patterns sheet; company tags, animations, AI features and unlimited code submissions are Premium.

The main drawback is refunds: there are none. Every purchase is "final and non-refundable", and the FAQ tells you to try the free content first. The company lists are a thin free sample too. The Google list shows 5 problems before asking you to upgrade for all 463, and every row links to a LeetCode problem with no stated source.

What Hello Interview Offers

Hello Interview sells "practical interview prep" and says it is "loved by 250,000+ software engineers and managers" (October 2026). Its free learning tracks cover system design, DSA, behavioral, ML system design and low-level design, and it publishes level-specific loop guides for Meta, Amazon, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Airbnb and Microsoft. Premium adds paid courses for system design, LLD, concurrency and behavioral, Guided Practice (34 system design, 8 LLD and 12 AI-enabled coding problems on its practice page as of October 2026), an AI tutor and a library of questions from recent interviews shared by its users.

When checked on October 14, 2026, 1 Month Access was $47, 1 Year Access $95 and Lifetime Access $319, each after an auto-applied 20% YEAREND26 discount off list prices of $59, $119 and $399. None auto-renew, and there is no free trial of Premium.

The main drawback is that practice is now AI-only: human 1:1 mock interviews and mentorship ended May 31, 2026. Refunds are at its "sole discretion", generally only for users who have not consumed the content. Its own pages also disagree on library size: 5,000+ on pricing, 13,000+ on the homepage, 13,720 reports in the question database and 5.3k on the premium page.

Head to Head

Coverage: DSA versus system design

AlgoMaster is the deeper coding product: curated tiers from AlgoMaster 75 (under a month) to AlgoMaster 600 (six months and up), animations, quizzes and code submissions. Hello Interview's plan cards list no coding-problem judge and no SQL practice as of October 2026, and its site does not say whether the DSA track runs your code.

In system design the order flips. Hello Interview's free track, paid course, level guides and whiteboard Guided Practice ("the AI reads your drawing") make the stronger syllabus. AlgoMaster lists 150 system design practice problems against 600 DSA problems, so its weight sits in coding. One caveat on Hello Interview: one Blind thread (October 2025) called its per-level expectations on practice problems "pretty lenient", so do not treat meeting those expectations as proof you clear a staff bar.

Price: the better buy to cover both

Both annual prices are markdowns. As of October 14, 2026, AlgoMaster's $99 Annual is struck through from $129 and Hello Interview's $95 year from $119, so Hello Interview is $4 cheaper at today's prices and $10 cheaper at list. AlgoMaster is cheaper for one month ($39 against $47) and for lifetime ($199 against $319). Check both pages on the day you buy. Hello Interview's own FAQ warns that buying a month and then upgrading costs more in total than buying the year outright.

For one purchase that covers both rounds, buy AlgoMaster Annual. $99 buys DSA practice with code submissions plus 150 system design and 107 LLD practice problems; Hello Interview's $95 buys the better system design product with 12 AI-enabled coding problems. Buy Hello Interview's year instead only if you are senior, already pass coding rounds, and system design is what sets your level.

Refunds and terms

Neither refunds as a rule. AlgoMaster refuses outright, and its policy pages contradict each other: the refund page talks about billing cycles while the FAQ says payments never renew. Its terms limit Premium to one person and let it sign out devices if it detects sharing. Hello Interview's fees are non-refundable with case-by-case exceptions, and it can end access without refund for shared credentials. Its terms also send AI-feature responses to third-party AI platforms and require binding arbitration unless you opt out. Lifetime access is "subject to the continued availability of the Premium service".

AI practice tools

AlgoMaster's AI coding mock lets you pick interviewer strictness (Strict, Standard, Coaching) and level (L3 to L5) and publishes its scoring rubric; the company-specific problem pools are Premium, and free users get the generic 600-problem pool. Hello Interview's Guided Practice walks you through a system design loop on a whiteboard, with feedback it says is "tuned by FAANG interviewers".

Who Should Pick AlgoMaster

  • You are learning DSA from scratch and want a pattern-first course with animations, quizzes and audio instead of a pile of unordered problems.
  • You want one pay-once purchase with no auto-renewal: Annual at $99 or Lifetime at $199 as of October 2026.
  • You want breadth past interview prep under one login: LLD, concurrency, SQL, AI engineering, ML system design, OS, networks and Kafka.
  • You want AI coding mocks with a published rubric and adjustable strictness.
  • You want to start at zero cost: the DSA Patterns Sheet and the Substack newsletter (over 153,000 subscribers as of October 2026) are free.

Who Should Pick Hello Interview

  • Your gap is senior or staff system design or LLD at a big tech company and you want a written and video syllabus you can start reading for free.
  • You want step-by-step AI Guided Practice with per-step feedback on a whiteboard rather than a question bank alone.
  • You are targeting Meta, Amazon, Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Airbnb or Microsoft and want level-specific loop guides, such as Meta E5 or Amazon L6.
  • You want a behavioral course with AI follow-up questions bundled with your system design prep.

The Third Option: PracHub

Both products teach first. AlgoMaster's company lists state no source and link out to LeetCode. Hello Interview's user-shared library of recent interview questions is a real strength, but it does not say whether entries are moderated, and its pages give four different sizes. PracHub is a bank of real, recently asked interview questions with in-depth written solutions. As of October 2026 it holds more than 12,000 questions from more than 550 companies, more than 8,000 of them free to read and more than 7,500 with a written solution. That includes more than 4,000 coding and algorithms questions and more than 1,500 system design questions. It is free to start with an optional paid tier.

Asked at Google: Median of All Values Across Several Sorted Integer Arrays It opens as the two-sorted-arrays median and then generalizes to any number of sorted arrays, which is exactly the follow-up a memorized pattern does not cover.

Asked at Netflix: Implement an in-memory key-value store with per-key TTL expiration and tests A phone screen where each key expires on its own timer, you explain the trade-offs as you code, and you finish by writing and running tests.

How to use all three without paying twice:

  1. Buy the course for your weak round (AlgoMaster for coding, Hello Interview for system design) and use the other product's free tier for your stronger one. AlgoMaster refunds nothing, so read our AlgoMaster review and AlgoMaster pricing breakdown first.
  2. Two to three weeks before the loop, switch from courses to the target company's recent questions, for example the Google interview questions. Solve each one under time before you read its solution.

Practice these on PracHub

Both products sell prep for the coding round and the design rounds (system design and LLD). Start with these recent questions.

Coding (K-th largest value without a heap, asked at ByteDance · Repeatedly delete runs of k equal characters, asked at Oracle · Split-tender payment events with refunds, asked at Stripe); more in the coding questions.

Engineering fundamentals (Fix a buggy Spring Boot movie search, asked at Amazon · Settle shared-expense debts in fewer payments, asked at Pinterest); more in the engineering fundamentals questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is AlgoMaster or Hello Interview better for system design?

Hello Interview. Its free system design track, paid course, level-specific loop guides and 34 whiteboard Guided Practice problems (as of October 2026) make the stronger system design syllabus. AlgoMaster lists 150 system design practice problems, but its depth is in DSA, with 600 problems.

Which is cheaper, AlgoMaster or Hello Interview?

It depends on how long you need access. As of October 2026, one year costs $99 at AlgoMaster (list $129) and $95 at Hello Interview (list $119), one month costs $39 against $47, and lifetime costs $199 (list $329) against $319 (list $399). Both are one-time payments that do not auto-renew.

Do AlgoMaster or Hello Interview offer refunds?

AlgoMaster does not: its refund policy says all purchases are final and non-refundable. Hello Interview's terms say Premium fees are non-refundable, with refunds at its sole discretion, generally only for users who have not consumed the content. Use both free tiers before you pay.

Can I prepare for free instead?

Partly. AlgoMaster gives away a significant portion of its DSA course and a DSA Patterns Sheet, and Hello Interview says much of its content is free. PracHub is free to start: as of October 2026 more than 8,000 of its more than 12,000 real interview questions are free to read.

Can I use both Hello Interview and AlgoMaster?

Yes, and many candidates should. Pay for the one that covers your weaker round, AlgoMaster for coding or Hello Interview for system design, and use the other's free material for the rest instead of buying both.

Is AlgoMaster the same as AlgoMonster?

No. AlgoMaster (algomaster.io) and AlgoMonster are different products. This comparison covers AlgoMaster only.

Final Verdict

AlgoMaster is the better buy for most mid-level candidates who need both rounds covered by one purchase. Its $99 Annual (as of October 2026, marked down from $129) gets you a real DSA course with code practice plus enough system design and LLD to go with it. Go in knowing there are no refunds.

Hello Interview is the better system design product, and its free tracks are worth reading whatever you buy. Pay for its $95 year when you already pass coding rounds and system design sets your level, and accept that practice is now AI-only.
