Uline Software Engineer interview: campus assessments in JavaScript and DSA

At an in-person campus recruiting interview, I completed a cognitive assessment along with JavaScript and DSA questions. The interviewer was nice, and the questions weren't exceptionally difficult. Still, I hadn't prepared enough for how much I needed to handle on the spot. The material felt manageable, and I left thinking more review would have helped me feel comfortable. I didn't move forward a…

Uber Drivers Software Engineer interview: five coding interviews and non-selection

I went through essentially the full process and wasn't selected. It took almost a month, which felt reasonably quick to me despite how challenging it was. There were five coding interviews. I don't have many details about the individual questions, but the number of coding rounds made the process feel intense and more selective than I'd expected. After the "not selected" result, I was left with th…

Uber Software Engineer interview: five coding rounds in almost a month

I completed the interview process but didn't pass. It involved five coding interviews over almost a month, which felt faster than I'd expected. All the questions focused on coding. I wondered whether the standard was aimed particularly at candidates closer to the new-grad track, since they seemed to engage broadly. I don't have much more detail about the individual questions to share. What I did…

Target Account Executive interview: communication and difficult stakeholders

The interview used structured questions about how I work. I described cross-functional work, communication challenges, difficult stakeholders, problem solving and managing expectations. The prompts were straightforward and related to situations I'd discussed in previous roles. They were specific enough that I could see the focus was on my thinking and how I explained decisions. I didn't end up ta…

Susquehanna International Group Quantitative Analyst interview: timed probability and logic

I applied for a quant internship and received the online assessment almost immediately. I had about an hour for probability and logic questions. They weren't brutally difficult, but preparation mattered if I wanted to work quickly and keep the reasoning straight. It felt like a check of fundamentals and composure. I don't have a long sequence of later rounds to describe. Probability and logic wer…

Virtu Financial Full Stack Engineer interview: expected C++ and a JavaScript task

A recruiter contacted me about the role and my background. I appreciated how they handled my frequent job changes caused by layoffs. They described the process as "language agnostic" and said the first round would be DSA in C++. I scheduled the interviews quickly and concentrated on preparing in C++. When the interview began, the engineer asked me to solve a combined DSA and low-level design prob…

TotalEnergies Software Engineer interview: technical rounds and communication assessment

The process had several interviews, each with a fairly clear purpose. I began with HR, discussing my background and motivation. Technical interviews with the hiring team came next, followed later by leadership-level conversations. The atmosphere stayed professional and constructive, and I never felt dismissed. There was also an online soft-skills assessment. The in-person rounds combined technica…

Stryker Account Executive interview: HR questions and a personality screen

The first HR interview was focused and practical. I discussed strengths and weaknesses, why I wanted to join Stryker and why I'd left previous jobs. The recruiter explained that moving forward would mean several more conversations. After that, I met recruiters and hiring managers, completed a personality screen and had further meetings with the people I'd report to. The sequence felt as though it…

Walmart Labs Software Engineer interview: a short virtual coding round

I applied online and received an email invitation to a virtual interview. During the call, I worked through an easy LeetCode problem that felt similar to 2-sum or a basic array question. I explained the solution during the interview and never heard back afterward. The process was short and uncomplicated, but without a follow-up it felt anticlimactic. There was no clear conclusion to the experienc…

Walmart de México y Centroamérica Software Engineer interview: coding feedback and no follow-up

An email invitation led to a virtual interview that quickly became a coding exercise. I had one LeetCode-style problem involving what seemed like familiar array logic, with a chance to talk through my approach. The interaction made it harder to concentrate. The interviewer's comments and reactions felt negative, as though I was already on the wrong track while I was still working out the problem.…

Zoox Software Engineer interview: a written assignment and unclear evaluation

The interview loop felt long and demanding. After a recruiter contacted me, I spoke with several hiring managers and moved into more technical work. The biggest commitment was an extensive assignment with a detailed written report and, if selected, a presentation to a panel. I felt the workload was disproportionate, especially when I couldn't see clearly how the work would be assessed. After fini…

Zipline Software Engineer interview: project discussions and an onsite panel

My first step after applying was a short Talent Acquisition screen about my background and current work schedule. Later, I spoke with a team member in a technical session. We stayed close to my resume, discussing the thinking behind my projects and working through a technical question. The broader sequence moved from the recruiter to technical and behavioral conversations, then a scenario-based r…

Walmart Supply Chain Software Engineer interview: easy coding followed by silence

After I applied online, an email invited me to a virtual interview. The process was quick and felt fairly light. I was asked to solve an easy LeetCode-style problem, something like Two Sum or an array task, and worked through it as best I could. I never received a follow-up afterward. There was no rejection message, just silence. The interview itself hadn't felt difficult, but the lack of communi…

YASH Technologies Software Engineer interview: SAP, ABAP and database fundamentals

The interview was difficult and closely tied to SAP work, with ABAP as the main skill. Most questions covered database concepts and SQL, and I needed to explain how those fundamentals connected with the domain. SQL came up repeatedly, along with RICEF questions. It felt much more specific than a general software interview. I was able to handle the questions, so in that sense the conversation went…

ThoughtWorks Software Engineer interview: pair programming, logging and production incidents

The recruiter screen was supportive and gave me enough detail to understand what the interviewers would look for. Scheduling took some time. Once the interviews began, the process felt focused on technical reasoning and how I thought while working with someone else. In pair programming, I had to explain my approach as I coded. We worked on clean code, problem-solving communication and design deci…

Rakuten Payment Full Stack Engineer interview: a two-problem HackerRank test

About a week after I applied, I received an invitation to a HackerRank programming test. It had two problems, and I needed to pass the supplied test cases to advance. The format was straightforward, but the work still felt demanding. It seemed focused entirely on coding rather than team fit or thinking about systems. I didn't receive an offer. At least the expectations were clear from the start:…

I had to keep my thoughts organized and stay composed while working through the quest…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.

Share your own

Likes must come from established accounts; like-for-like swaps and likes from your own second account are not paid.
