Chime Software Engineer interview with coding, system design, and manager rounds

I went through a fairly standard Software Engineer process at Chime, with a recruiter conversation followed by coding, system design, manager, and product-style rounds. The difficulty was mostly average, although I had mixed feelings about how clearly some interviewers ran their sessions. The recruiter screen was a phone call about my background, the role, and expectations. The technical intervie…

Plaid Account Executive interview: behavioral phone screen and Zoom meeting

My process started with a behavioral interview over the phone, followed by a formal Zoom meeting. The sequence felt structured from the beginning. I didn't run into any major problems during the conversations, but I didn't make it to the final round. The experience ended sooner than I had hoped, and I was disappointed that the last stage never happened for me. I didn't get an offer, though I appr…

Asana Software Engineer coding interview with no feedback before rejection

I started with an initial screening that left me genuinely excited about the opportunity. The technical part didn’t match what I expected from the preparation materials. Instead of feeling like a collaborative back-and-forth, the interaction was noticeably less engaging, and the interviewer’s involvement felt minimal. I didn’t receive feedback after the coding interview, so the uncertainty dragge…

Mercor Software Engineer interview: fast sorting questions and code review

One interview felt unusually fast and almost dismissive. I spoke with an engineer who asked quick, random questions, including the slowest sorting algorithm and its time complexity. I then did a quick code review of two functions. The whole decision seemed to happen within about five minutes, and the engineer appeared eager to wrap up after roughly ten. Another round was also very straightforward…

BairesDev Software Engineer interview: Python fundamentals and concurrency

My process picked up after I filled out my online profile. I had a short HR screening where the conversation moved between Spanish and English, and then I was scheduled for the technical interview. The technical round was entirely in English and lasted about forty minutes. It surprised me because it focused heavily on open-ended, textbook-style questions about core Python concepts. I was asked ab…

Rokt Account Executive interview with two CCAT assessments and HireView

After applying, I went through a fast-moving assessment sequence centered on CCAT-style cognitive testing. I took two different CCAT versions, which felt a little odd and even useless to me, although the tests themselves weren’t especially hard. After reviewing my results, the recruiter scheduled a HireView step. It was short and not difficult, but I found the format oddly off-putting. I then mov…

Northrop Grumman Software Engineer interview with a one-hour behavioral round

I started with a recruiter introduction call, followed by a one-hour behavioral interview with a manager. The questions were fairly standard for an entry-level software engineering track, and they didn’t go deeply into complex technical trivia. There was no presentation, and the process felt organized and smooth. I spent most of the interview explaining my experience clearly and answering behavio…

AMD Software Engineer interview on timing and DFT

My interview centered on my project experience, beginning with how I handled both my master's and undergraduate work. The technical conversation moved into more specific areas, including timing and static timing analysis, where the questions became fairly in-depth. I also discussed architectural topics and some DFT basics. The interviewers wanted me to speak concretely about what I had done and c…

AMD Software Engineer interview: two in-person technical rounds and delayed feedback

I had a couple of in-person technical rounds, and the interviewers gave me a positive signal because the sessions went smoothly. The process felt normal at the time, so I expected that I was moving forward. Afterward, the recruiter didn't update me for about two weeks. I followed up repeatedly, asking several times, and the response eventually became negative. The communication felt unprofessiona…

ASML Software Engineer interview, transactional recruiter screening

My biggest frustration came before I reached any technical depth. The recruiter interactions were my first real signal, and they didn't feel aligned with what the role actually required. In our conversations, the recruiters seemed more focused on ticking boxes and pushing me to name a salary than on understanding my background or motivation. One screening call felt especially transactional. It se…

Micro1 Software Engineer interview with the Zara AI

I interviewed in a live meeting-style setup with the Zara AI, and the process felt time-boxed from the start. I had to answer questions within a limited window, knowing that I was being recorded and that the recording would be shared with recruiters. I had to stay focused throughout because the AI could miss parts of what I said. When the questions came, the interaction seemed responsive to impor…

Micro1 Software Engineer fifty-minute Zara AI interview

My process was quick and centered on a Zara AI interview. The question difficulty felt easy to moderate, and the whole interview took about fifty minutes. It started with a short mock interview and then moved into the technical round. The AI's pacing felt straightforward compared with more intense stress-test interviews. It handled the mock portion first, followed by technical problems that didn'…

Northrop Grumman Software Engineer onsite with LeetCode-style questions

I was contacted and ended up in an in-person interview focused on LeetCode-style questions. It felt more intense than the behavioral-heavy rounds I'd heard about. Once I was in the room, the interview was clearly testing problem-solving. I didn't get immediate closure afterward. A recruiter followed up and scheduled another phone conversation, so the process wasn't over right away. The format was…

Northrop Grumman Software Engineer onsite with senior engineers

I had a straightforward onsite interview in a conference room with a couple of senior engineers. The difficulty felt entry level, and the focus was on discussing my background and how I described my experience. The room dynamic stood out. AMD Software Engineer interview with two weeks between HR and technical rounds

The HR screening covered the usual setup, and the technical process followed about two weeks later. The technical questions seemed straightforward at first, but they didn’t stay shallow. The interviewers kept digging into who I was as a person and how I worked, using my answers as the thread. The interviews felt more like an examination of how I function than a pure test of puzzle-solving. Even w…

AKUNA CAPITAL Quantitative Analyst interview with quant-style math testing

My process started with the usual screening and assessments, then moved into online testing that leaned heavily on quant style math. I reached the later stages, including a final technical evaluation. The last question was the one that tripped me up. Oura Software Engineer interview with late immigration constraints

The process was mostly smooth at the beginning, but the closer it got to the final rounds, the more it felt like important context was missing. When it came time for the decision, I was told that immigration couldn't move forward and that an offer would…

Whatnot Software Engineer interview: DSA pre-screen and two technical rounds

I started with a structured DSA pre-screen that felt similar to a HireVue or Karat flow. I answered a set of coding prompts and then had a recruiter call. Smartsheet Account Executive: dry, transactional recruiter meeting

I went into the recruiter-stage meeting expecting something more thoughtful, but it was oddly dry and transactional. It felt like someone was just ticking boxes. There wasn't much back-and-forth or emotional engagement, and I didn't feel like the interviewer was listening so much as running through a script. That gave me a pretty negative impression from the start. As I thought more about what I'…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.
