Tesla Software Engineer interview: rushed transient heat transfer question

The technical interview felt jarring from the start. The interviewer was not very conversational and moved quickly from questions about my resume into transient heat transfer. They first asked for specific details from what I had written, then gave the heat-transfer question in a way that felt rushed. I was trying to catch up with the pace and tone instead of settling into a normal problem-solvin…

QualityKiosk QA Engineer interview: role mismatch at weekend interview

HR called to say my profile had been selected for a Lead Performance Test Engineer position. At a weekend interview, I was asked to introduce myself and then quickly told they were looking for something else. It felt sloppy because my resume and fit did not seem to have been reviewed properly. I left thinking the whole interaction could have been handled more professionally. Location: Mumbai. Ove…

Josh Technology Group Software Engineer interview: campus to office technical rounds

After clearing campus rounds, I was called to office interviews. The campus sequence began with MCQs on CS fundamentals and output prediction, then MCQs plus one coding question, then a coding-only round. At the office, I completed an OA with two coding questions at about the same difficulty as the final campus coding round. It was followed by three technical interviews and an HR interview. The t…

Hilti Group Software Engineer interview: vague rejection feedback

My first conversation was directly with the hiring manager and felt scrutinizing from the start. The focus seemed to stay on critical points in my resume. The positive parts of my experience and what excited me got little time, so I felt I was defending myself instead of discussing technical background and motivation. Questions came quickly, with limited room to expand. I also asked about the rol…

xAI Software Engineer interview: final-stage silence

The process ended strangely. I felt that I had done well and reached a final interview stage. Nobody promised me anything, but the momentum seemed positive. About a week and a half later, I followed up and never heard back. That lack of closure stayed with me more than anything that happened during the interviews. Even after a smooth process and a final-stage appearance, the silence left me frust…

Stripe Software Engineer interview: incremental 60-minute assessment

The online assessment was difficult in a particular way: it had multiple parts that built on one another. The full window was 60 minutes, and I was racing the clock while implementing each piece in sequence. I did not advance past it. The assessment seemed designed to mimic real engineering flow, with each section unlocking the next. Once I fell behind, there was little room to recover because la…

Capital One Product Manager interview: withdrew after recruiter mismatch

I only reached the early stage because the recruiter call put me off. It felt disconnected from product-manager work and the roles being hired for. I came away thinking the person did not understand what Product teams did, and they discouraged me from taking part in a rigorous full-day process if I did not feel like a strong fit. There was a brief attempt to pull me back into the process, but I h…

Apple Software Engineer interview: design challenge decision

HR outreach quickly led to an hour-long hiring-manager conversation about my background, technical topics, and design. I did not feel especially strong in those answers, but I still advanced to a design challenge. The cycle ended after I submitted that work. I was rejected after the design challenge, without a long back-and-forth. What surprised me was how quickly the process moved from conversat…

Meta Machine Learning Engineer interview: paperwork after technical rounds

The technical rounds were not the main issue for me. A friendly, detailed recruiter screen covered the role and its expectations, then I moved into familiar LeetCode-style coding interviews with screen sharing. The coding itself did not feel unfair. I handled the problems and kept the normal pace while explaining my approach. Even so, I did not get an offer, and the reason I heard was paperwork r…

Matrix Missions Marketing Analytics Specialist interview: background fit

My interview was scheduled about a month after I applied. The interviewer was nice and the process felt smooth. Most of the discussion centered on my previous work experience, and nothing about the conversation was especially surprising. I did not get an offer, but it felt mainly like a background-based fit evaluation: more comfortable and conversational than stressful. Location: Hong Kong. Overa…

La Fosse Consultant interview: prolonged culture-fit process

This was the opposite of the smooth, well-communicated process I expected. I went through what felt like too many culture-fit discussions, then received last-minute requests to scramble together business plans. The handling of references and the wider feeling that my time was not respected threw me off. At times, it felt as if information I had given was being used as intelligence rather than for…

Jane Street Software Engineer interview: final onsite mattered most

I started with a virtual round and then moved to an onsite. The questions blended coding with system-design-style work, but they emphasized real-world systems more than academic exercises. By the onsite, it was clear that this was the most important stage and that the bar was highest there. I did not perform well enough in that final stage to move forward. The process was intense, and my main tak…

Paytm Software Engineer interview: DSA, wallet design, and Java

After speaking with a recruiter, I had a medium-difficulty DSA technical screen about a week later. It was a straightforward checkpoint where I needed to communicate my reasoning before, during, and after coding. The next round was harder. I received a medium-to-hard tree problem and a system-design prompt about Paytm Wallet, so I had to move from an algorithm into design trade-offs. The last tec…

Odoo Account Executive interview: product demo and pressured role-play

The interview opened with a group product demo in a random group. It quickly became a pitch challenge: I had to invent a business idea and sell it as if I were on stage. After my individual presentation, I was questioned right away about whether I could handle rejection pressure and keep a pitch organized under scrutiny. It then shifted into role-play. Oracle Software Engineer interview: intern technical sequence

For a Software Developer Intern role, I went through an online assessment, three technical interviews, and an HR interview. National Oilwell Varco Software Engineer interview: calm whiteboard screen

A recruiter conversation set expectations and made the process feel systematic. I received detailed information in advance and the interviews did not feel pressurized. Morgan Stanley Financial Analyst interview: timed fit and finance prompts

After applying, I started with a HireVue that was mostly behavioral. I had to think on my feet within the time set for each question. A recruiter-style call followed and felt more focused on understanding me than on deep technical testing. The next round involved senior people and mixed behavioral questions with finance context and light technical reasoning. I had to explain my thinking aloud. On…

Speechify Software Engineer interview: refactoring and realtime AI design

I began with a recruiter conversation about my resume and the shape of the technical rounds. Soon after, I completed a 90-minute LLM-based refactoring assessment inside a full-stack app. I was given problems to fix, and although AI tools were allowed, I still had to think through the work instead of copying answers. The later formats were live and varied. In a 90-minute vibe-coding session, I rec…

ServiceTitan Customer Success Engineer interview: recruiter silence

After I applied, I had an initial recruiter screen and the process seemed to be moving. Then I received an automated rejection. Roblox Software Engineer interview: challenging but relaxed Superday

After applying online, I took an online assessment built around game-style problem solving. The Superday itself was tough, though most interviewers were laid back and friendly. They were difficult enough that I had to be specific about how I would han…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.

Share your own

Every published experience earns 50 XP, and each of the first 3 likes it receives in a day earns you 10 XP more. Likes must come from established accounts; like-for-like swaps and likes from your own second account are not paid. Write it while the details are fresh — the round order, the exact prompts, and how much time you were given are what the next reader needs.
