The Walt Disney Software Engineer Interview Experience: Disorganized scheduling and role mismatch

About a week after applying, I had a recruiter screen with two resume-related questions and little useful role detail beyond the posting. A week later I supplied availability for a hiring-manager round about two weeks away. Scheduling then became difficult. None of my offered times worked, and I was asked to fit the interviewer's availability. The technical content also mismatched the stated job:…

The Boston Consulting Group Consultant Interview Experience: Timed case sequence

My first step was digital business-case material under tight time limits. It felt less like a conversation and more like targeted skills testing, with little room to show every nuance of my reasoning. I then had in-person case interviews in a pass-then-advance structure: two back-to-back case studies of about 45 minutes each, followed by another two 45-minute cases if I passed. Time management ma…

Supermicro Software Engineer Interview Experience: Full-stack debugging assessment

I had an online HackerRank/LeetCode-style prompt under a tight window, immediately followed by a full-stack repository debugging task. An API call did not behave as expected, and I had to diagnose and patch it until every test passed. The difficulty came from the number of moving pieces rather than the algorithm alone. In versions of this assessment style, there was also a work simulation where I…

TCS Software Engineer Interview Experience: Long fresher-oriented timeline

After applying online, the TCS process stretched close to 6 to 12 months, though it was organized once underway. It moved from technical coding to an advanced coding/problem-solving round, then a managerial discussion of my technical experience and projects, and finally HR topics: compensation, notice period, policies, and next steps. The NQT exam was important for shortlisting. My listed slot wa…

WatchGuard Technologies Software Engineer Interview Experience: Strong technical, nervous manager round

The process was a quick three-step flow: first a technical screen, then a managerial-style round, with some candidates progressing further depending on early performance. My technical interview went so well that they skipped a second technical interview and moved me forward. The managerial conversation was emotionally different. The questions and discussion were good, but I became nervous and fum…

Amazon Web Services Software Engineer Interview Experience: Nerves in LP loop

I started with an about-one-hour phone screen that was mostly technical and felt as though my future manager ran it. The process then moved quickly into an LP-focused loop, structured around Amazon-style leadership thinking even when the technical work did not look extremely hard. I got a LeetCode-medium problem in the spirit of binary search. I understood it but nerves kept me from landing the s…

Xero Software Engineer interview: live coding and a role closed after later rounds

After an HR screen, most of the process involved hands-on work and live interviews. I solved a typical algorithms question in a live HackerRank round, then laid out a high-level system design and explained my decisions. A hiring-manager discussion covered behavior and team fit, particularly how I handled conflict and resolved problems. At times, I felt they were testing my collaboration as closel…

Amazon Software Engineer Interview Experience: OA with AI website debugging

The process began with an online assessment with several parts, then moved to interviews. The OA included medium-to-hard DSA problems, a work simulation where a website had a bug and I was expected to use AI to work through it, and several behavioral, situation-focused questions. The interview stages had a similar emphasis on scenarios and problem framing rather than one isolated coding question.…

Zalando Software Engineer Interview Experience: Mismatch on level and pay

The process soured quickly. I went through complex rounds and was rejected for a mid-level role. To me, the expectations did not match what had been communicated: they seemed to want more experience while offering less pay. The interviewer interactions felt rude and unfriendly, which made it hard to stay motivated. I left upset, with the sense that the company was not acting in good faith about f…

JP Morgan Chase Financial Analyst Interview Experience: Recorded HireVue pressure

My recorded HireVue was more stressful than the later conversations. It lasted close to half an hour and used two prompts, with two chances to re-record each answer. The timing and self-recording mattered as much as the content. Later, I had a VP/ED interview covering motivation, my CV, and a technical component. I also went through separate ED assessment interviews that mixed technical, fit, and…

JP Morgan Chase Financial Analyst Interview Experience: Analyst panel before superday

After applying, the process ran for a couple of months before my superday. I first did HireVue, then a recruiting group discussion. Before the superday, I attended a special session with current analysts on a panel to learn how the business worked. The roughly two-hour superday included two interviews with VP/EDs from different CCB areas. The conversations covered fit and how I thought about prob…

PayPay India Backend Engineer Interview Experience: Perfect test score, rejection

I applied online and quickly received an automated CodeSignal link. I completed four questions and scored 600 out of 600. There was no recruiter conversation, only the test and then a wait. About a week later, I received a rejection email. It made me suspect scoring was being used as an automatic filter without real human review, and left a bitter impression that felt like ghost hiring. ServiceNow Software Engineer Interview Experience: Interrupted technical screen

The interview was tougher than it first appeared. I got an array problem that combined stack and queue ideas, and struggled to see how the structures were meant to connect. The flow worsened when the interviewer turned off the camera and left during the interview. I tried to get their attention, but was left waiting without real-time feedback. I got through the session but did not receive an offe…

Munich Re Financial Analyst Interview Experience: Half-day in-person loop

After a recruiter call, I waited about a week for a technical screen grounded in the work and how I would approach it. The process then moved to an in-person track: a direct point of contact followed by interviews with peers and managers. The office portion lasted about half a day and included lunch, which was a pleasant surprise. The interviews were organized and professional without being overl…

JPMorganChase Financial Analyst interview: timed finance tests and senior interviews

The process felt intense from the start. After an online recorded interview, I faced timed assessments with little room to think. One test had difficult math and finance questions without a calculator. I also answered interview-style questions with very little preparation time. It felt like speed and composure mattered alongside what I knew. The live stages stayed difficult. My superday involved…

DoorDash Data Scientist Interview Experience: SQL, cases, and virtual onsite

An HR-style call covered the role, compensation and benefits, and the hiring flow. The technical screen began with four medium SQL questions in a HackerRank-style format. I barely had time for the last one and got the impression they did not expect a full solution. A case study followed, where I explained how I would approach an open-ended business problem. After passing, I had a virtual onsite w…

Datadog Account Executive interview: sales process and a mock cold call

The process felt organized from the beginning. I started with a recruiter conversation and then met hiring leaders. In those calls, it seemed they were comparing my experience with what they needed in an Account Executive: my approach to sales, how I described my impact and how well that experience would translate to their environment. The hiring-manager questions were more pointed. I explained m…

CATERPILLAR Data Analyst Interview Experience: Clear sales-support discussion

I began with a direct recruiter conversation about the role, day-to-day work, and how the company viewed it. Soon after, I had a technical interview for sales support. Capgemini Business Analyst Interview Experience: Exam-like presentation process

The process had two exam-like stages. First came an hour of rapid competency questions, heavily focused on business-analysis knowledge. Andela Software Engineer Interview Experience: Practical Python and React assessment

My take-home assessment combined Python and React. It began with debugging, then two Python functions using real data structures rather than LeetCode problems. The core logic was straightforward, but I spent most of my time writing tests. The third section was a React layout, where AI use was allowed. After passing, I had a Python technical interview on fundamentals, FastAPI, and AI-related servi…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.

Share your own

Likes must come from established accounts; like-for-like swaps and likes from your own second account are not paid.
