Netflix Software Engineer interview: seven interviews over more than two months

My Netflix Software Engineer process took a little more than two months from applying to accepting an offer. What surprised me was the number of steps. I went through seven interviews, a mix of technical rounds and behavioral conversations, so it felt like a long, involved process rather than a quick loop. The technical side covered coding and systems design style thinking. The difficulty felt hi…

DoorDash Data Scientist interview: SQL round and case study before a quick rejection

The loop felt almost entirely about training the interviewers. There was no separate recruiter screening call. It began with a SQL round, then a case study. The recruiter mostly gave a brief introduction, while the two technical sessions carried the process. I finished the SQL questions and explained my thinking to the recruiter as things moved along. The case study also went well, and it felt li…

Mastercard Software Engineer interview: scenario based screening rejection

My screening was built around hypothetical situations. It was not a friendly chat. The interviewer walked through scenarios and tested how I would think about them, with a clear focus on decision making rather than coding. The interviewer was professional and kept a positive attitude, but I was rejected in that screening round. The quick outcome surprised me because the tone had been good, and I…

Mastercard Software Engineer interview: eliminatory coding and same day later rounds

I entered through a college placement style process. The first call was for a coding round, and that round was explicitly eliminatory. After I completed it, I finished the remaining rounds a couple of days later, all on the same day. The sequence began with the coding interview and continued with manager level and bar raiser style evaluation. Those later rounds seemed to be about more than coding…

Capital One Business Analyst interview: graph and percentage assessment

My process ended at the online assessment. My background leaned toward analytics, but the assessment was much more about business and math than analytics problems. The preparation material I found did not seem to match the format I received. There was a small set of questions on graphs, data interpretation, percentage calculations, and reasoning beyond plugging in numbers. I worked through them,…

Capital One Data Analyst interview: Power Day cases after a data challenge

After an HR call, I had a technical screen that combined technical work with business problem solving. There was a coding test focused on SQL and Excel data management, then a data challenge where I analyzed the material and presented what I found. The process took about two months from beginning to end, longer than I expected because I kept waiting for the next step. Power Day had four rounds an…

Microsoft Software Engineer interview: HackerRank queue with two stacks

My Microsoft process began with a HackerRank online assessment. After that came three live coding rounds on HackerRank, each with some behavioral questions mixed in. The behavioral questions were direct: why Microsoft, a time I failed, and how I learn a new skill. For coding, I had problems such as building a queue with two stacks and filtering an array efficiently. They also asked about data str…

Airbus Helicopters Software Engineer interview: situational flight context

My first contact was an HR style conversation about why I wanted Airbus, why I wanted the role, and why my location choice mattered. There were competency questions too, including a "tell me a time when" prompt. Later I spoke with someone in a manager type role. I was nervous that the discussion would be too technical, but they mostly explained the job and the profile they were looking for. I use…

An applied AI Software Engineer interview: technical, manager, and bar-raiser rounds

The process felt high-stakes and had two technical rounds, a managerial round, and a bar-raiser-style discussion. It opened with a coding round that could eliminate me. Once I finished it, the remaining stages came quickly. After a short gap of a couple of days, I completed the next rounds in a single day. The pace left little time to decompress, and I had to stay sharp across different formats.…

An applied AI Software Engineer interview: unclear live coding expectations

The initial screening felt normal, but the technical interview did not. I was given LeetCode-style questions, and the interviewer's behavior made the situation tense. They did not want to explain the question and expected a fully running solution while I was answering. That mismatch between the communication and the expectation put me under stress and did not feel supportive. I did not move forwa…

Bank of America Financial Analyst interview: six-interview virtual superday

After HireVue, I attended a virtual superday about two weeks later. Instead of separate early rounds, I moved almost directly into this condensed format. The superday had roughly six interviews of around 30 minutes each, combining technical and behavioral questions for the healthcare team. The content felt tailored rather than generic finance discussion, and I had to keep switching between techni…

Atlas Copco Group Software Engineer interview: remote assessments and presentation

I first spoke with a recruiter about my background and expectations. About a week later, I began the main stage remotely and completed lengthy aptitude assessments before the technical portion. I thought the assessments could have been shorter, but the interviewer was pleasant and the process moved smoothly. The second stage also stayed remote, which spared me a long return trip for an in-person…

Amazon DSP Software Engineer interview: coding, design, and behavioral sequence

After recruiter screening, I completed a take-home LeetCode-style assessment, a live coding interview, a system design segment with two design questions, and a behavioral discussion about communication and collaboration. Coding came first in the live stages, while behavioral evaluation was a structured test of fit. The process also looked at work style and how I explained my thinking, not just wh…

Amazon Development Center U.S. Software Engineer interview: a structured coding and design loop

My process followed what felt like the classic Amazon sequence. A recruiter screen led to a take-home LeetCode-style coding assessment, followed by live coding. I then had a system-design interview with two separate design questions and finished with a behavioral interview about communication and collaboration. The structure was what I remembered most. The behavioral questions asked me to demonst…

BAE Systems Software Engineer interview: redacted feedback and internal-candidate concern

The process was long and did not feel meritocratic to me. I had an in-person interview with two interviewers and another person remote. They took turns asking STAR questions. It felt like a formality, as though an internal candidate had already been chosen. Recruitment had suggested bringing project examples could help, so I prepared one for a "tell me about a time" question. Although the in-room…

First Quality Laboratory Account Executive interview: long process without closure

I went through several rounds, assignments, tests, job shadowing, and final interviews. It became longer and more exhausting than I expected. About a month after the online assessment, I entered an in-person loop with four rounds and a lunch break. Honeywell Technologies Software Engineer interview: STAR answers and resume discussion

The recruiter call was mostly basic behavioral questions. About a week later, I spoke technically with a group of engineers. What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.
