Volkswagen Group Italia Software Engineer Interview Experience: A five-day backend assignment and disorganized staffing coordination

A recruiter contacted me through LinkedIn even though I had not applied and, as far as I could tell, my profile was not in their pipeline. At first, they described it as a one-off interview and said they would keep my information for future opportunities even if I did not move forward. In reality, it lasted much longer and was hard to follow. I went through HR screening and then met a Backend tec…

Zoho Software Engineer Interview Experience: Aptitude, voice, technical, and HR stages

After a recruiter call, I completed a general aptitude test to assess how I approached problems. That led to a voice assessment focused on communication, then a technical interview meant to measure my domain knowledge. The process finished with an HR round about cultural fit and my overall suitability for the role. It felt like a structured sequence in which each stage checked a different skill a…

Ally Financial Financial Analyst Interview Experience: A short HireVue with no closure

My first step with Ally Financial was a self-recorded HireVue-style video interview. I recorded an introduction and answered a handful of behavioral prompts. The format was lightweight and straightforward, with no technical questions. It still created pressure because I had limited attempts for each answer and had to redo recordings when something came out awkward. The prompts were mostly "tell m…

Align Technology Software Engineer Interview Experience: A checkbox-style recruiter screen

My first touchpoint was a screening call with the HR recruiter, and it did not feel like a real conversation. It seemed low-effort and unprofessional, more like filling out a multiple-choice form than someone actively assessing me. Instead of interactive questions or a back-and-forth about my background, the recruiter appeared to be checking boxes. That immediately made the process feel less resp…

Zoetis Account Executive Interview Experience: Polite interviews followed by delayed rejection messages

I kept running into the same frustrating theme: the process began politely, but communication failed when it mattered. I had an initial recruiter call and then a hiring-manager screen. After that, I waited. I followed up and got no real acknowledgement or clear next step, only silence. In separate moments, I was told I would hear back after a resume review or another stage, but the updates never…

Wise. Energy Software Engineer Interview Experience: Rigid technical screens and contradictory role expectations

The vibe and fairness felt off from the start. In a technical round where I filled in parts of a skeleton script, the session felt rushed and rigid, as if I were being judged against a memorized approach instead of how I reasoned. The scope changed at the last minute because they could not define what they wanted. There was also a mismatch in fundamentals: state-machine concepts were not handled…

Wise Software Engineer Interview Experience: A rushed skeleton task with shifting requirements

My experience went in a direction I did not expect. Early on, the interviewers seemed to rely on a rigid, memorized script instead of exploring architecture and trade-offs in a real way. The session rushed toward finishing a skeleton task and left little room for production concerns such as comprehensive error handling. When foundational concepts came up, especially state-machine thinking, the in…

Wayfair Software Engineer Interview Experience: A difficult HackerRank assessment

I started with a straightforward recruiter call about my background. Soon after, I took a HackerRank coding assessment. It ran about 75 to 90 minutes and had two medium-style questions, closer to LeetCode data structures and algorithms than anything company-specific. One problem involved string and array manipulation. The other relied on hash-map thinking and edge-case handling. The difficulty fe…

Accenture Software Engineer Interview Experience: Go for Gold and a broad online assessment

After applying, I first had to complete the Go for Gold experience and earn 2,500 XP points before I could move forward. Then I took an online assessment with quantitative aptitude, gaming-style puzzles, logical reasoning, and more technical aptitude items. The technical portion had two DS questions and SQL queries, plus a frontend-style CSS question and a JavaScript event-listener question. The…

Accenture Software Engineer Interview Experience: Silence after technical rounds

My biggest issue was not the questions. It was the silence afterward. I went through rounds that included a technical interview and completed everything they asked, but I never got a clear result or next steps. My application eventually changed to "no longer under consideration," and I received an email saying the position was closed. It did not arrive with the timely communication that would hav…

Amazon Software Engineer interview with coding, aptitude, technical, and fit stages

My process began with an online assessment that combined coding and aptitude questions. After I cleared it, I had one or two technical interviews on data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and general problem solving. The final round shifted to fit, with behavioral questions about communication, teamwork, and overall alignment. The experience was challenging because I was evalua…

Amazon Software Engineer interview obtained through a hackathon with a friendly online coding round

I got the opportunity through an Amazon hackathon, and the process began with an online interview. The interviewer was friendly and easy to talk to, which helped because the session started with a simple introduction before moving into the questions. The coding portion felt medium difficulty overall. It was not the most intimidating format, but it still required me to explain myself clearly while…

Amazon Software Engineer interview with an emergency reschedule and four-part final loop

After recruiter communication, scheduling moved smoothly except for an interviewer emergency that required a reschedule. I eventually reached the final loop, which had four back-to-back technical interviews. Amazon Project Manager interview with a timed AI-led Leadership Principles screening

My process started with a recruiter email screen, followed soon by a recorded, timed virtual interview led by AI. A virtual interviewer asked behavioral questions tied to Amazon's Leadership Principles. I answered on camera and had to handle follow-up prompts while the clock kept moving, which made it feel more pressured than a normal screen. About a week later, I had a one-hour video interview w…

Amazon Software Engineer interview with a team-aligned pair of one-hour technical sessions

I received an online assessment first, and then the process moved quickly to interviews aligned with the team I was being considered for. I had two interviews on the same day, each about an hour. After a recruiter touchpoint, I had a direct technical interview that began with a quick look at my background. LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) Business Analyst interview with eight timed HireVue responses

After a recruiter-style check-in, I went straight to an on-demand HireVue-style interview. The questions were mainly behavioral, about workplace situations and how I approached day-to-day collaboration when things happened a certain way. It was not a deep…

EPAM India Software Engineer interview with Python deep dives and an unaccommodated emergency

My process stretched across many rounds and felt heavy from the start. What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.
